I'll be rolling up my character tomorrow, so I'll decide in the morning.
Dark Miasma or Traps would be my vote, with a nod more towards Traps for things like using Dark Pit & Seekers to set up toe bombing, using Tentacles & Caltrops together and the -ToHit & FFG working well together.

I actually had a Dark/Kin Corrupter for a while and deleted it at 26 because the 20s were so dull powers-wise (30s is good but I just sorta gave up on them, wasn't enjoying it at all) and how poorly the thin cone of Nightfall worked with the "like to be close to melee range" of Kinetics.

My vote goes for Traps as well. It's got amazing debuffs (crazy -regen, -res, -def, -dmg...) and FFG is a great source of defense that, combined with Scorpion Shield, is really easy to softcap. Combine that with Dark's -tohit and you'd be golden. Dark's got Dark Pit and Tenebrous Tentacles that not only help make trapping safer than it alreay is, but keep foes in your debuffs as well.

Also, Traps is really, really fun. I think a lot of people are steered away from it because they think it might be slow or something, buy like someone said earlier, you're typically upfront tailing the Tanker/Brute in all the action. It's surprisingly fast-paces compared to what I first thought Traps was gonna be like when I rolled it up.

I'd put in a vote for /Cold. It's a solid set, offering a lot of different things, making it useful on teams regardless of the enemy.

Just a short update, rolled my Dark/Traps and am slowly leveling her up. A need for a trolled got me distracted and got me leveling my long ignored kinetic and IOing him out. But I'm working her up.

/dark.

All the -tohit stacks to rediculous numbers. Between that, fearsome stare, tarpatch and the selfheal (which is also a slight -regen debuff among other things) you'll have a hard time dying. Especially if you slot for some defense.

Fluffy is awesome. Doesn't do much dmg, but with all its -tohit (which stacks nicely with your own) and selfheal it can tank a fair bit for you when soloing.

Shadowfall has a stealth component, which is handy for ghosting overly long missions.

And then there's Howling Twilight. It's advertised as a aoe rez, but it does much more than that. It is also an AoE stun, and has a huge single target -regen debuff.

/Sonic it's the best secondary in the game. Enemies too tough? Not any more! Teammates too squishy? Not any more! Distressing lack of earthquakes? Not any more! Teammate recovering from a headache? Not any more!

Dark Blast does a lot of to hit debuff and DOT. There is no aim, so you do a bit less damage with lots of safety. SO my first choice is storm for some additional damage and great to hit debuff synergy. Since you are against Storm however....

My second choice is actually a kin (if you do not mind SB'ing the team a fair amount). You have to do some re-positioning for FS then TT + NF.

Cold and Traps I am tied as both are superb sets. Traps is a bit easier early on and the FFG will help you along with the dark blast debuffs. Cold matures later, but makes up for it in the end.

So this thread inspired me to try a dark/trapper and I am only 12 at the moment but the set works pretty well together and I can see some real nice synergies between the two.

The FFG and the aoe tohitdebuffs are going to be incredible. Plus with lifedrain and the regen aura of the beacon, the defense, the tohitdebuffs. That is some stout layered protection, I anticipate this toon being on par with a /nin stalker for toughness (probably wishful thinking).

The seeker drones/darkpit should give an aoe level 4 combined stun.

The trip mine should fill the missing third aoe attack to complete the aoe attack chain.

Acid mortar is just great (I keep forgetting how powerful this really is).

I am really enjoying this combo and can see some nice potential here.

Darks Accuracy annoys the heck out of me. It's a great blast set, but not accurate without slotting properly. I prefer Rad/Dark Miasma, but if I was going to do a Corr up, it would be Dark/Rad. Rad for the minus to defense, and debuffs to allow Dark Blast to land more. This is just my experience with Dark
