  • 2 missions
  • Badge(s): Weapon Master & Master of Apex's Force (no guarantees :smirk: ) for earning the following badges:
  1. Drone Protector: Do not let any Police Drones be defeated
  2. Burden Bearer/Arms Length: Do not revive/recharge any of the Police Drones
  3. Already Dead: Defeat Battle Maiden in under 15 minutes
  • Merit Reward: 40
  • Incarnate Shards: 2
  • This TF is open to both Heroes & Villains
  • If we complete this in a timely fashion, we'll give Master of the Tin Mage TF a shot
Mr E-Man’s MoApexTF Mission Notes:
  • General Instructions: Stick together & follow instructions. Always let the Tank/Brute grab aggro first – even before debuffs. Don't be shy to offer opinions/strategies.
  • Mission One - Part One: Hit the Pylons from range - clean out the sewers.
  • Mission One - Part Two: DO NOT touch any glowies! PullI everything to the bottom of the steps so AoEs do not hit the drones. Pull new mobs down the steps as they spawn
  • Mission Two - Part One: Clear the ambushes & gather before heading down. Timer only counts when Battle Maiden is on screen.
  • Mission Two - Part Two: Hit Battle Maiden with everything we have Shivans/Nukes/HVAS etc. When the Blue Spam hits under your feet - MOVE! Quickly clear the ambushes when Battle Maiden runs (timer stops for this phase). Kill enough & Battle Maiden returns. More Blue Spam - keep going at Battle Maiden with everythng we have until we take her down.
  • This is a most definitely a work in progress.

Myrdinn gave me some tips, but I'll be asking questions along the way, so I can update my mini-guide.

Yay, thanks for the auto sign-up! Agony's Mind/Thorns btw. Not that I use the thorns all that much anyway, but there ya go.

Is like to sign up for this with my widow Cryptid. I've done apex a bunch of times so I'm happy to give some advice on running it. My global is @Gen Infinity if you want my 2 cents before the start time.

Posted

I'd like to bring my rad/kin corr, Azure Spirit or my earth/earth dom, Kiyoshii.

Posted

I'd like to run this with my Fire/Kin Corr, Hot Moves Baby.

I have a couple other characters that are alpha slotted, but the Corr is the only one with a level shift thus far.

Edit: If I manage to run an LRSF on my Elec/Shield tomorrow afternoon, I could run it with that if another Brute would be preferable to another Corr.

I've yet to actually run Apex, so I'm afraid to sign up for this, but wish you all luck!

Just a reminder...

This is Tonight!

I've been having some computer issues lately, so I am going to try to run this on my laptop. Going to try connecting to my TV through HDMI & see how it goes...

OUCH! Well it was a bit of fun. I'm sure the folks that have never done this one had an eye opening experience. I will say it was kind of funny when I would TP Mr E from his death place to me and as I started to rez him, the blue death would start to form at our feet. Well I won't tell you what happened next.

lol, Oh I know what happened, cause I died a few times trying to rez E. I swear E, you were worse than a REGEN scrapper last night :Smirk:

It was interesting. We did not get Mo on either TF, but I think both E and I learned a lot just from being in the TF's. Hopefully it'll go better next time.

But bleh, the second mission on Apex sucks. Moving around from the blue goo isn't horrible, I finally got the hang of it. But those darn swords would not leave me alone!

And I got a Hecacomb: Damage drop =). Too bad it's one of the two purples I already have slotted on Luna. I slotted it on my other scrapper, but I might pull it back out, sell it, and buy a third piece of the set for Luna instead.

Thanks for the run all. It was fun!

I really think if we stay close as a group and move together just a few feet from the blue death it would go a bit quicker. But it is kind of funny watching everyone run around like their hair is on fire. Also, and I know its hard, try not to fly because then you get blue forming at your feek and head. And yeah the swords are a pain. And Luna my son was next to me while I was on and he said whats up with Mr E. And then I realized I kept saying "And down goes Mr E" LOL!

Yeah it was a fun experience - surprisingly the entire Tin Mage TF is much, much easier than that damn BM encounter. It never failed, but everytime I dropped a Shivan, within seconds I would die.

Well, for the next run, I at least got my 2nd Tier slotted so the 20% damage resistance should help, but I really think I am going to need the level shift that comes with the 3rd tier to really have some staying power against BM.

And unfortunately, I was good most of the way, but during one of my BM deaths, my comp slow-down problem started up again...I was on for over an hour before we started, so about two hours with no problems, then it started up again. Not as frequent, but still there... =(

I need to build a new comp, but the funds just are not available.

That's the trick. You get the warning, and you have a few seconds to shift just a little bit to avoid the blast, but with everything else going on around you, it gets messy: Rooting attacks holding up your evasion, being swatted by swords and stuff, etc.

It seems that the swords respawn only when the previous spawn is dead. Wondering how feasible it is to let a few of the minions live, and just let them attack vs inviting another batch of swords a few moments later...

A good run though, shame about BM. Once we got our groove on, she went down fast enough. But that's what learning experiences are about, right?

All I can offer is this:
- figure out which powers have a long cast time. If you are in a middle of casting it and blue goo is in your area, chances are, you will get zapped.
- avoid immobilizing BM. If she's stuck in an area, the melee will have to stay with her. Allow her to follow taunting brutes.
- have a brute taunt BM so you know where she will go next. The team can decide whether to go clockwise or counterclockwise on the map. Melees hit and run.
- Immob the swords, but don't kill the last sword so another mob of swords don't respawn.
- if you go down, hosp right away. However, the Hosp in the BM zone has no nurse. Stock up on insp in email and your tray.

Sorry, I missed this one, and good luck on the next run!

Not sure if you already do this, so I'll just make the suggestion.
Do you have dual core? If so start COH with renderthread 1. This splits the work between 2 CPUs and it does help. Before I did this, the temperature for my 1st core was 70 C while the other 3 cores were 40 C. After COH started with renderthread 1, core 1 and 2 were 50 C and the rest were 40 C.
Do you have any programs that monitor temperature? If not, get speedfan. Check your CPU and GPU temps to make sure your fans are cooling properly. 75 C and above, you may want to clean your heatsink and fans or replace them.

For at least the last two years, CoH already boots with the secondary thread enabled by default. There is no longer any need to use the command, and it does nothing. If you are still seeing a difference with it on and off, it must be due to whatever else you have running at the same time using the extra resources.

I might have figured out my problem (at least partially) - I ran a ram test & got back some errors - now I need to isolate if it is a single chip or a physical problem with the mother board.

Truthfully, my comp is old - it was built in 2006 & was not really "high end" at the time, but it was the best I could get for the price I wanted to pay. I have swapped out some components over the years, but the basic log-jam is the MB & CPU (Pentium D 2.8).

Hmmm either of those would explain the problems your having. I hope it's just the RAM though! Good luck on the rest of the testing.
