Sorry I misunderstood.

Really? That's funny, they aren't screwing it up for me. I doesn't bother me one bit what people run in the market buildings. How terribly self-centered of them!

If this is your threshold for ignore, I think no one should be terribly worried that you ignored them.

Edit: I have absolutely no objection to the notions of quiet rooms or (extra) markets with suppression. I have zero interest in any suppression being universally enforced at existing markets that do not have it, and do not like that it was added that way in Praetorea.

That you conclude this about people who leave their powers on is outrageous.

I leave my pets at the door.
I leave all my toggles running.

Asking me to play to suit your style is far more rude than leaving a few toggles on in the market.

You have other options. Turn off your speakers. Go to quieter markets. People will do what's convenient.

It's not a law that people riding public transport have to shower, and those kind of people are a bit more ... invasive (?)... than a spines/fire scrapper in your market.

I fully support additional rooms that have power suppression. Until that happens, deal with it.

Seriously? It's a joke apparently since you couldn't hear me speaking what was written you concluded that there was no humor involved.

Sorry I like to joke around and I would have thought people would have got that by the outlandish things I said and the smiley.

Wow some people...but then again it is the internet and srs biznezz only....

So instead of griping at each other, how about:

- Push for an earnable/purchasable (other than the vet reward) auction house temp power, and/or

- have them actually look at bases for the first time in who knows how long and add an auction house terminal item there.

I would really dig that second one Bill plus it's a little love for the bases.Maybe like a terminal or something. An sg badge for something that unlocks it and make it at a workshop.

The first one maybe a new day job area or a series of badges for a auction temp terminal.Dunno about a purchasable one though.

So many possibilities though...good idea!

Is there an auction house in Galaxy City?? I can't recall, but if there is, I think it is

probably pretty quiet. If there isn't, maybe the devs could add one in that zone with a

studio B type of room to see how popular the idea is. Just a thought.

It's not that I run around taking everything on the internet serious. It's that there are plenty of people who have said things like what you said there and meant it in true seriousness.

In any case, no need to apologize for my failure to grasp your humor.

I like the last idea as well.

What I'm trying to do by suggesting a 50/50 split in the current auction houses is avoid requiring the devs to spend the resources making a second room. It takes time for someone to build the geometry, test it, and get all the NPCs working correctly. Time that could be better spent on geometry for game play instead.

Adding power suppression to some of the existing auction houses, or Bill's suggesting to add a Market rep to bases, probably takes less resources.

And I also agree that there's a lot of pointless griping, immaturity and even personal attacks in this thread. Everybody should just take a big breath, and if your tempted to post something irate, just don't post at all.

If it were actually power suppression, I wouldn't care, but it actually detoggles everything. For people zipping in and out of the market I can understand why this would be an issue.

For the jacktards that stand there for the next half hour with their AoE's/Shields/Auras/Pets contaminating the AH and actually start spamming their powers if you ask them to turn them off, I couldn't care less and love the Praetorian WW.

It's typical of people to do such things I compare it to people who pull out in front of you in traffic, they only think of themselves and piss on you if it inconviences you.
I'm all for a separate room as well or Bill's suggestion of adding it to the base.

And I would equate the AH power spammers to people that speed up to get in front of you, then slow down once they are there.

I'm all for supression at the markets. The reason I (and I imagine others) prefer it this way is it's nice to have some peace and quiet when you're doing your market business. Lights flashinig and sounds blaring while you're busting skulls? Right-on. Don't need it when I'm standing at the market; it gets distracting.

And just when you think that not having supression isn't that big a deal, you run into something like I did in Cap a while back. Two SS/ brutes (one with /FA) intentionally bothering people by auto-casting footstomp. And no, they weren't just doing it incidentally, they were standing outside click range of the market npcs. They were clearly not there to use the market, and were glad to make it clear to those who were.

I still do not think suppression is desirable or that lack of it a big deal. Yes, those people were jacktards. Everyone who uses the market with their regular powers on does not need to have their powers detoggled because there are a few jacktards in the game. I'm not willing to suffer what I consider universal inconvenience at the market because there are a tiny minority of people who are rude enough to be intentional jackholes by taking advantage of the system.

It irks me that people even consider solutions of that sort - sweeping change to deal with minority behavior.

Great idea! That would serve the same purpose as a "quiet room" and on the off chance some rude twit of an SGmate starts acting the fool in the base when you're using the market terminal you can have the satisfaction of booting his punk *** out of the SG.

(I'm basing my comments from the perspective that I'm the ranking officer in all my SG's)

Also, implementing Bill's suggestion would forgo the Dev's having to spend precious time in making new rooms connecting to the AH.

Power Supression, I love it!

It stops some players from using their powers to show off or simply harrass other players trying to make decisions on what to buy and how much to pay for.

I find players coming into the auction house blowing themselves up, deploying ligning storms, stomping the ground to be rude behavior and childish at best.

I sincerely wish power suppresion was also done at WW and BM as well.

But I do agree, power suppresion should not de-toggle you, just suppress the power graphic and sound effects. So when you leave the store you are at 100% and don't have to go thru the process of re-toggling...

I find the power suppression to be more annoying than the person who does not turn off his/her toggles. Suppression affects me every time I step into a market in Praetoria. Especially the de-toggling -- Killing Controller/Dominator pets is sometimes not cool since the recharge may be quite long if you just summoned the pet. The annoying people only bother me once in a rare while . . . but then I don't spend most of my marketing time in Atlas. I probably only have a problem with somebody once every 4-6 months, and then I can just move down to a different contact. It is really no big thing.

I would LOVE it if bases had a market terminal. A supression room would be great for those few times an annoying person is nearby, but I consider that to be a low priority.

I like the idea of suppression but then I don't stay at the market with pets/toggles, so I'm already resummoning/turning toggles on when I leave.

I can see how suppression would be more tricky redside so the idea of a 'quiet, suppressed room' would be good. Personally I wouldn't like the 50/50 split because the most convenient place (vendor, market and base portal) is Cap. There's no benefit if that is 'as-is'.

However, the thing I'd most like to see is a market terminal in the base (and a tailor plus AE craft pad working there). This is something I'd get in ALL my bases. Usually when I'm crafting I'm hopping from the base (salvage), to the market (salvage), back to base (crafting and storage) and back to the market (sales). That saving of zoning would be lovely.

I'm not big on power suppression in the markets. And I hate the fact that Praetoria's ONLY market locations are blighted with it like poison.

Yes, I understand that people spamming powers in the market are annoying as hell. And I'm not big on that either.

However, on a scale of 1-10 I find that:

Annoyance of people spamming powers? A 3 to a 5.

Annoyance of complete power suppression and being reduced to a slow crawl? A 12.

As for retrofitting EXISTING markets for power suppression?

NO! NO! and HELL NO!

If you're not quite getting what I'm saying:

However, if it comes to adding additional entrances to power-suppression rooms or an SG market interface?

YES! YES! and HELL *BLEEP!* YES!

And, again, for those of you not quite getting what I'm saying:

Likely it would take LESS time to implement one of these options than it would to retrofit power suppression to existing locations.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a "quiet room" at Wentworths...It's called King's Row Wentworth's. This is where I always to do my marketeering. I play on Freedom, and still rarely see more than a couple people there.

This is frankly a solution I use as well. The only issue is that I don't think you can craft anywhere nearby at KR. I just use Steel if I'm going to be crafting. Usually not too bad. Stay away from AP, it's a zoo.

Red side, both Port Oaks and St. Martinal have Abandoned Labs for crafting and their BMs are nearly always dead as a door-nail.

While technically it's zoning, if you have an SG base, you're mere steps from a crafting station.
