Crashing Often? Please post to this thread...

My situation is similar, but different.

MacBook Pro
Snow Leopard 10.6.8
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB memory
Running with the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT active

Crashing is random, at least the first time. I could have been playing 20 seconds or two hours and then screen goes black and most of the time I can hear the sound looping. The only way to recover is force reboot the laptop.

THEN after I reboot, about 85% of the time, I will crash almost instantly after re-entering the game after logging in. Most of the time, as long as I don't move, I am fine. I can type in chat, click on buttons, but as soon as I move -- same black crash. Other times, I don't even need to move and I crash within 30 seconds of getting back in the game.

Usually, if I try rebooting 3-4 times, for some reason it starts to work again, but I don't see anything I do differently that corrects the problem.

Any clues?

I crash frequently when there are several players (usually at least once per TF). I do better solo, but who wants to play solo all the time? Lately, I cannot participate in the Haunted House event; my client crashes repeatedly. Plus, I have gotten stuck at the door (a team member teleported my toon about 6 inches from my start point and I was fine).

I recently tried this trick: /bind u reloadgfx
That seems to help? Haven't tried the Haunted House since making this bind. But, honestly, I got dropped without warning.

Still crashing often - if anything, it has gotten worse since i21. I hit reload gfx like it's a morphine drip, I still will just randomly drop from the game, sometimes with an assertion failure, sometimes not.

It really annoys me that I spend so much money on this game, and it seems like they can't be bothered to fix a major problem plaguing a significant sub-section of their clientelle....

I've been losing the mapserver a lot lately, and in a couple of cases, I've been dumped to the CoH login screen.

I, too, am still having a plethora of crash problems. It mostly crashes on trials, but there have been instances where it will crash while I am soloing in an instanced mission. It crashes whether I have graphics turned up or to a minimum.

Types of crashes: Unknown. The game just quits on me. No error screen, no assertion failure, just stop working and then quits itself.

Unfortunately, it won't drop all the way down; you'll slowly accumulate unfreeable memory.
As a habit, when I play CoH on my MacBook Pro (versus my PC desktop), I usually just /reloadgfx every 25 minutes or so. At one point, I used to set a countdown timer on my phone, just so I wouldn't get into something hairy, forget, and then have everything come crashing down.

Great idea on making it a macro.

This is not going to be about crashing for say, but more of still slow loading with zones and missions lately even after the i23 launch... Not sure if anyone else has been experiencing this. Also with zoning the loading zone will shift moving off screen slightly and then go normal again sometimes several times before entering a new city zone or mission... Also.... I see a repair function in the NCsoft launcher but it doesn't quite seem to repair much. It goes through the steps and all that, but it still tends to load slow at times.
I just hope that it won't have to come down to reinstalling the whole game again :/ that would be 4 Hours wasted if it wouldn't work with that either.

If anyone has suggestions it would be nice
