X2 XP weekend
Depends on the group and what they're doing, and at what level. I could say "20 levels," but be talking about going from 1-20 as opposed to 30-50, f'rinstance.
You could start a baby now and breeze through the fast early levels, then later cram out the tougher higher levels during the hypothetical double-exp weekend.

To jump in on this - I have never done an X2 weekend and was wondering what the best way is to take full advantage of it?

Hop on a sewer team, get to level 10 (quite likely) before the 2xp weekend. Work your way up to at least a travel power. At least you don't have to aim for Stamina any more.
Heck, get some of your friends/SG mates to start with you *now* and start up a new SG base (etc) on your new home, and invite others during the weekend.

If you have a personal SG Base with storage, you may want to start crafting IOs and stashing them in preparation for use. If you do decide to push for maximum levels, you may not want to take a break from a good team to spend time shopping. If you're just going to use Common IOs, then just make a batch of level 25s and they can carry you to 50 if need be.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

In terms of levelling fast, I got a 37 in a day and a half once by sticking with one 8 man team each day. Fortunately it was a toon I remade and had fond memories of from the first time. I say fortunately because while the weekends are good for levelling I was all but broke on the character by the end of it and couldn't afford to fully slot him without transferring money across.
Friends are just enemies that haven't betrayed you yet.
A couple things I like to do to help leveling are,
- make sure I have access to cimerora on level eligible toons as there will be tons of itfs going.
-craft a bunch of generic ios for quick slotting so I am not wasting time or paying the crazy buy it nao prices that weekend.
"Life is about perseverance. It's about slogging through no matter what." - Stormy Llewellyn
Current project - Orgo to Plowshares 42 Kat/Inv Scrap
Main -Orgo 50 Rad/Rad def
Yes, there will be many people doing the same, but you can't go wrong working this. There are a lot of rich players and they don't want to be bothered with doing their own crafting. They will pay ludicrous amounts for your Common IOs.
Of course, keep your sell price reasonable so you can sell your inventory steadily. Steady sales with a chance of random big wins is better than locking up all your Market slots with high priced stock that aren't moving.
Set IOs are a bit trickier. They work out better later in the Double XP Weekend and the weeks after as the fast levelers look to upgrading from Commons to Sets now that they aren't as pressed for time.

Which server were you moving to?
Actually the convergence of 2XP weekend and the last dregs of the Winter Event make me think this could be Winter Lord leveling revisited(to a lesser degree).
Get on a WL spawning/present hunting team and then do the Lord Winter zone. Rinse, repeat. With 2XP on this might be the fastest way to level lowbies. Or get a 20+ to host a Lady Winter team, that map is very farmtastic
Of course many ITFs and LGTFs will also be run.
Couple toons will be hitting 50 that weekend
Well let's see I have recently started a new Blaster (DP/Ice) and when I saw this question I logged on and found an NPC with a name starting in M (always tells you how many hours your character has been on patrol).
She has logged 29 hours on Patrol and is currently a level 28. This includes doing Posi One TF, Posi Two TF, Synapse TF, Sister Psyche TF (Twice). She soloed her way to around level 12 when she joined her first Posi TF and didn't go near the AE building in Atlas or the Sewers. She has run radio missions and safeguards along with some missions from contacts. Oh and she also has all of the exploration and history badges available from Altas, Galaxy, KR, Steel, Skyway, Faultline, Talos, Croatoa, Boomtown, Perez and the Hollows... I like getting 5 free merits per zone just for flying around and stopping on top of markers.
She was involved with a failed Citadel TF that never went beyond mission 2. We encountered a bug that kept us repeating the first mission over and over. Finally got a GM to come and get us to mission 2 and for some reason on a TF that when you checked showed as being set to +0 X0 we were facing level 33 and 34 Council. At that point everyone got disgusted and quit. And all of that probably added an hour to her time in game.
So I am averaging around 1 hour per level as I approach level 30. Now as Memphis Bill commented from 30 - 50 I fully expect that time to drop significantly based on the increase in the anmount of XP required to level but as you can see it really is NOT that hard to level a character quickly.
If I'd joined a Sewer team in Atlas at level 2-4 I could easily have been a level 6 or 7 in under an hour. Radio teams in KR and Steel can quickly get you through the early teens and into position for the TFs which almost always get you a couple of levels in less than 2 hours... On Synapse alone I went up 3 level in 1:30.
Were always the good guys. In D&D, were lawful good. In City of Heroes were the heroes. In Grand Theft Auto we pay the prostitutes promptly and never hit them with a bat. Leonard

If you, like me, find Praetoria to be a hideous grind for the first 20 levels, I would thoroughly suggest utilizing double XP weekend to make Praetoria go by super fast. I would totally create a few Praetorians, log them off there about a week before hand, and then come back to them on the 27th and just start rocking and rolling. Since it's 2XP weekend, you'll have no problem finding teams, either. A good team and you'll be in and out of Praetoria in 2-4 hours, I'd say.

I'm tryng to book the weekend off of work, if that happens I can see 3 or 4 new 50's in my future. lol
Liberty Server
Active Character: Canadian Firestorm
Fire/Rad Controller Level 50
It's just been brought to my attention that I will be out of town and away from civilization during the entirety of the X2 weekend. So, yeah, this is a bummer. I was looking forward to this
so it appears at this moment there wont be free server transfers at this point, so my next best option will be to create a cloned character on the server I want to move to... realistically how many levels can one expect to gain, say in 4 hours, with a group (as I imagine there will be tons of teams being formed)
