Like a Ton of Bricks (Unionversal Schemosity)
Now I personally don't mind holding off for a week but it's upto the other people involved, if I get outvoted, so be it, we'll move time forward.
So the count now stands at 1 for and 1 against.
Since I'm not involved in that plot directly, I have no meaningful opinion on the matter. In my experience though, people hate time skips.

Well as Ethan is now in D, any holds or time skips are easy to work around, so ill go with what ever others want.
Yeah, if we did do it for one of my characters it'd be 'portal storm messes with D teleporters, poof we came out a few hours later purely by accident' and for the other it'd be 'a few tedious hours of filling out registration forms later...' Still rather we didn't though. Almost every time skip I've had in threads has resulted in the thread being dead within a month.

Okay, nevermind. Just found a PM from Techbot in my mailbox, and it looks like he'll be able to post this next week after all - just not as often. Carry on.

Phew! I was about to say that skipping through a fight we don't know the outcome of (IE Injury/Damage/Death) is never a good idea.
Right, better work on my next post then.
If only we had a character with some kind of massive channeling of an opposing element to fire to throw at Jacub to put it all out...
... wait a second...
I know, right?
It's a shame our merry band of strangers are still just that; strangers. They currently lack team-wide communication and are spread out all over the city. Fortunately for Jacub and unfortunately for the rest, Mirel the aqua sorceress is far too busy puppeteering the giant monster Lusca, fighting Paragon Protectors, SWAT and transformer robots in Independence Port. Oh what will they do without her?
:O She'd take great offence to being called a Soceress, she doesn't know a single Spell! And hasn't spoken with a single demon! Well outside that one party... but it doesn't count.
Idea I was toying with though, maybe we should get ourselves a proper OOC thread for The Crossing? Might let us help explain certian characters, thier backgrounds and powers for those not familiar with thier settings (Or for those from brand new settings we just made up).
Plus people will know it's related to that, rather then in this apprently unrelated thread, so uh, thoughts on this idea people?
I like that idea. I didn't even remember this thread until Omy mentioned we had an OOC thread. My response was a 'O_O wha?'

Works for me, heh.
And I guess I could bring Sarkh over if there's really a desperate need for lots of water in KR. He'd need a good reason, though. My guys have been running him ragged off-screen, so he's about ready to just curl up in a corner and go to sleep.

Personally I thought this WAS the OOC thread for the Crossing. Guess I was wrong?
As for the need for lots of water, the fire crews will provide that if/when they show up. Magical fire not so much, though. Hence the desire to drain all his endurance (something elec/kin is pretty good at) so all they'll have to put out is ordinary fire without the magic keeping it burning.

It technically is the OOC thread, but a more proper officla one might help is all I was saying.
Also Magic Water > Magic Fire was my point.

Also, Derek and the Outsider's course of action brought to you by some likely unfitting battle music. ¬_¬
I could have listened the "Last Battle" from The Witcher on Repeat Track instead but that's only just over a minute long with an actual end rather than a fadeout and would have started to grate on me after the third repeat. o_O

Max: "Me too."

I dunno, I kinda like that as battle music. It's even from a batle scene!

Heh. This is going to get interesting once Jacub smacks into Blue Steel.

Proverbial unstoppable force vs immovable object? Hmm....
I'm gonna side with Blue Steel on that one.

Look, not to be a stick in the mud but, seriously? Since when have Police choppers ever had weapons mounted on them? Let alone a full blown minigun. Police gunners and snipers riding the chopper? Sure, pretty believable.
*shrug*

To be fair this is Paragon City, not real life. Ingame they don't even have helicopters, they have robots, dudes in powersuits, kheldians and psychics instead.

I fully appreciate that, but the PPD don't even use miniguns. Were it an LMG or HMG or something (Machine Guns, for those not into acronyms) I could buy it, or the aforementioned side-gunners with conventional weapons.
Is there any precedent in-game or canon/lore for the PPD simply rolling in and just stuff in the face with a gatling gun, though? Their cops; they tend to be more about arresting stuff, not reducing it to paste on the pavement.
I realise the SWAT in IP seem to run counter to that, but lord knows I've been dropping enough hints about plot involvement there...

All right TA, I get it. Accuracy of trivial stuff like this is important to you. So until the reveal, assume there are yet unexplained plot points to do with the damn gun and its owner. Just like your augmented SWAT/PP in Independence Port or whatever it that's up with them.
As I always try to say, this arguement would have been better raised with me personally via PM as opposed to this petty and unwarranted public discussion. I find it a little embarrassing and distracts from the enjoyment of RP. I don't want to have to keep doing this, so can we just drop it? Or move it to PM's, where depending on the message content, I may of course choose to ignore, as is within my rights as a person and paying customer of this game. Thank you.
Well, I dunno about you guys, but PPD officers in the Shell suits of the Powered Armor Corps have repeatedly tried to 'arrest' my villains with arm-mounted chain guns.
Now as to the helicopter, personally I think if the PPD sicced those on us, they'd have some kind of hardware to be EB- or at least boss-class foes, since they do deal with a good bit of super-powered crime. Then again, Longbow Chasers are just lts, and Sky Skiffs aren't much of a threat either, so what goes on with aircraft in the CoH world setting is probably a question that can have any number of answers.

M'kay then...
As much as I'm enjoying Techbot's Transformers plot, I have to admit that the idea of putting everything on hold for a week really doesn't appeal to me. I've PM'd him, but he seems to have already left, so I figured it best to ask this here:
I'd like to scootch time ahead (by a few hours or so, maybe even to morning) and stick my characters where they'd be at that point - in Eden, at their camp. From there, yalls can decide where your character(s) ended up, be that with mine or wherever else you see fit. The transition itself won't be detailed, as I feel it's best left ambiguous as to how the fighting characters separated so that no one feels like they 'lost' anything. Later on, we can decide if we want to go back and insert some specifics that took place during this 'blackout period' for story purposes.
Any questions/comments/concerns/objections?
