Anyone else frustrated with Issue 19?

After fleeing from there myself, I have to agree.

I'm not really grinding anything out anymore. I did for the first few days after I19 release but now it's back to running Tips in the afternoon and if anyone is trying to form a TF I'll usually try to join...or I'll log off and find something else to do.

I got rid of my second account so am down to 10 or so 50s. And as far as I'm concerned most of those can be deleted. I picked one character and uber'ed her with a bunch of purple sets and originally she was to be the only one who is an Incarnate. Now that she's got an Uncommon slotted and is sitting on a few dozen shards I'm thinking I'll go ahead and Incarnate my /rad corr just for those times when a team absolutely must have a debuffer.

So hey, don't like the grind, don't do it. Pick 1 or 2 characters and focus on those. It's really easy to get enough shards from casual play as long as you're not trying to build every Alpha path.

That bad, eh. I've played CO off and on. It's not terrible these days, but does seem better suited to the free to play model that they're moving to. Some games just don't lend themselves to the subscription model, which doesn't necessarily make them "bad" games....

Anyway, I just got a DCUO beta invite, but am currently restricted to my laptop so I haven't had a chance to test the waters myself yet. If it's that terrible, I won't bother.

Frustration over having to respec all my characters....nope

it's like christmas and my birthday all rolled into one! MUAHAHAHA!

(Honestly though, doesn't bother me at all. I just think of it as hey, I get to make you all over again!)

Golgothen,

It is easy but we are trying to build every Alpha path :-) For example, if you didn't beat Trapdoor in the past few weeks. He'll be hard in now.

To me this has all just increased the grind factor and lowered the fun factor. X 20.
I haven't minded it because I have logged into a 50, respec'd it, handled any reslotting, and then used the Incarnate arc as a bit of a stress test - arachnos, council, rikti, crey, some EBs.... by the end of the arc I have a good feel on where the respec/inherent changes leave the character.

When that gets old (every 2 or 3) I jump on a sub-50 alt for a bit.

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

Honestly, I think I19 will be the major update for a while. Don't get me wrong I like it. I love the new tfs but these things concern me:

1. The Shards - Who can resist these? I will push hard to get as many as I can get. Who knows how many you'll need?
I know you'll be able to sell them in the future.

2. The extra build and Respecs - This is $9,000,000 to stock this one(roughly 50,000x60=3,000,000 x stacked 3 = $9,000,000 per build. I'm considering an all recipes build just for fun.

3. The TFs. Why have us run these all again? And if you have to run these again for all of your characters, you're looking at least 6-12months.

Simply, this is a busy work release. They probably looked at the common stats and tried to find a way to get everyone to invest, invest, invest in this to hold off the big game. I just bought an EU account but with I19 I'll probably never get to play it until middle of next year.

Personally, I prefer quality over more but many feel the other way. I19 gives more, more, more...if you know what I mean :-)

Finallly, did anyone get the Fast Track to Incarnate? NcSoft/Paragon should allow a few of us to do this. Its bad that we have this cutscene about it but no one qualifies.

I'm frustrated in that I don't yet see an Incarnate Power that lets superspeedsters move like Synapse and Neuron, without Travel Power Suppression.
But, since being Incarnate means being the equal of the signature heroes/villains, then obviously that's got to come along, too.
Soon.

If we can save this game, I promise I will never complain about Travel Power Suppression again! You have my word on it!

Dasher, your bringing up an interesting topic here. I will be silent here. Be patient, Paragon is working hard to solve the problems of the world even as we speak :-)

You mean the pull thing? Only done that on teams they insist on it. Keep him under some kinda mezz effect (even just KB/KU) prevents bifrications. At least he doesn't have protean's cheap trick.

We get it. You don't like travel suppression. Deal with it.

Nope. I'm only doing Incarnate stuff with a few of mine... and not all of those may advance beyond their Alpha commons. It'll just depend on what the other slots look like and rather I feel like the things they offer really suit any of my crew.

I'm only looking at doing the entire process... all tens slots with all the bells and whistles... with one. Palrah, because he's my badge-collector and my favorite.

Otherwise, I'm loving I19. Stamina at lowbie levels is a Very Good Thing, the transit system changes are love and in spite of Director Jerkface and his prox-bombs of doom (Which will probably forever stand between Pally and his Dodger badge-), Tin Mage is a heck of a lot of fun to play through.
