How many personal attacks can a mm get?
3 personal attacks from their pet powerset and a couple of attacks from their epic powers. Lots of MMs act as support for their pets where they will either heal, debuff, and/or buff their pets and their pets are their attacks.
The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.
I suppose it depends on what you consider an attack.
Web grenade/flash arrow aren't damaging but do have an attack animation.
Force bolt does a little damage in addition to the KB.
Caltrops, freezing rain, acid arrows do damage in addition to a debuff.
Oil slick arrow is a fairly straightforward attack.
You put down an acid mortar or a tornado and they make their own attacks, does that count?
I guess the question is do you want to do a lot of the damage yourself or are you seeking an active playstyle?
From experience /storm is very active. Using hurricane to herd mobs is a fantastic minigame, and helps keep you alive and getting the most from everyone's attacks.
/traps is also quite active, and deals a lot of damage.
/dark somewhat less active.
/FF is an AFK build, you can be typing in the chat window during a ship raid and still be effective.
Trick arrow looks active but I haven't tried it yet.
All the primary sets give 3 attacks but you will never use more than 2. I only ever get 1 and use my vet attacks (or secondary set powers) if required.
Traditionally, on the forums people get shouted down if they dare suggest taking personal attacks. Personally I find them useful, especially when soloing... and shooting at baddies can be more entertaining than just standing there picking at your behind. It also depends on your secondary. Some secondaries like FF are more passive and leave you with a lot of time on your hands to shoot at baddies during a fight.
You get two single-target and one AE attack from your primary. There are melee attacks in the pool, the best one being Air Superiority. And your epic powerset will give you at least two ranged powers.
TEMPORARY POWERS!!
Seriously, they do good damage and you don't need to use a power pick on them and they're quite cheap to get.
And including those, the answer is: a lot. Say...10'ish? Maybe an even dozen?

I enjoy playing Bots/Dark, Thugs/Poison, and Demons/Thermal alot. All three keep you busy doing important, helpful things for your squad of minions and your team. Bots/dark I took the stun grenade from the robot primary. I didn't take a mastermind primary from the Thugs for a personal attack, but poison is a very busy secondary. Demons/Thermal is probably my busiest mastermind, buffing, debuffing foes, and using 2 of 3 Demon mastermind primary attacks that add to the debuffing. It's also the most team-oriented build of the three.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
Not necessarily true for all sets. For instance, /FF has little to do between buffing so they sometimes take all three attacks if they can fit them in. And Demons actually have useful attacks... hit something with all three and it's as big a resist debuff as Tar Patch. Their actual damage is pretty low like all MM attacks, but in effect each one deals around 7% of the target's total incoming damage for the next few seconds thanks to the debuff.

I might throw something else out there. Now that we have dual builds and if you have money you could make a solo build where you take lots of attacks and a team build where you take none.
If your going to slot IOs then everything matters build wise. If your going to go with SOs then pick whatever you want because it really doesn't matter. As long as the SOs are reasonable, as an example not slotting 5 damage in a pet with 1 accuracy then it should be all fine.

Sands of Mu and Blackwand, theyre all you really need.
Gonna take both the single target attacks on my Bots/Traps. Why? Because we don't get LASER RIFLES as a powerset yet. It's weaksauce damage, but I'm gonna slot both with Thunderstrikes for set bonuses anyway (will be able to softcap everything).
Plus the rifle looks neat.

I am interested in it but I really wanted a good mix of attacks and pets doing stuff, I have an ill/rad as my main and mostly he has pet stuff.
