Multi Archetyping

So this is just for fun. Me and some roommates were talking about multi-classing/archetyping/etc in some MMO's we play. My question is if you were to MultiArchetype in CoH? What would you be?

Simple Rules are:
-Don't count Archetype Generic Abilities into your choices.
-You can't choose the same AT 2 times.
-Max of 50 Levels
-Each Time you choose a level for an AT, you gain a level in the AT as if you were only a single AT toon of that level. Example: Level 10 tanker, Level 5 Defender and I take another level of defender, im now a level 6 defender, and would only have access to any of the powers that a lvl 6 defender would have access to.

I would Probably make a Tank (32 or 38 Levels) with Defender (18 or 12 Levels)

I would Probably make a Tank (32 or 38 Levels) with Defender (18 or 12 Levels)
32 levels Scrapper and 18 Levels Blaster.

Dark Armor Tank for 12 levels (Necessary armors, Dark Regeneration, no auras, no attacks, just taunt), fire blaster for 18 (gets me up to Blaze), Bots/traps mastermind for the rest (Protectors, the first upgrade, acid mortar and FFG).

You've created a monster.

This character can have a full ranged attack chain, plus rain of fire and fire ball for AoE. On top of that, it has moderate resistance and a pittance of defense to everything, along with mez protection, stealth, and the best self heal in the game. The mastermind portion gives it bodyguard mode with five pets, for an additional resistance to everything, while taunt and the taunt aura keep aggro on the mastertankblastermind. The protector bots give the character another 11% defense to everything and can heal the drones/each other, while the FFG grants him another 15% or so. Triage beacon for some steady +regen if there wasn't enough survivability already.

38 Crab Spider / 12 Thugs MM could be fun.

1 level of Stalker is hard to pass up on for just about anyone. 6 levels if you want AS.

Some kind of Willpower Tank/Regen Scrapper/Dark Armour brute would be pretty tough to take down. Really any combination of multiple armours stacked together is going to be silly.

Level 4 Invulnerability Scrapper (you'll need to take a Secondary Powerset at some point anyway for levels 4,10,16,etc, unless your plan is to take tons of pool powers)
Level 6 Dark Armor Tanker
Level 12 Radiation Emission Defender
Level 16 Regeneration Scrapper
level 12 Fire Blast Blaster

VERY good resists, Absurd Mez Protection, very good recovery and regen, very good debuffs, and good damage (if not many attacks). Probably couldn't defeat an AV solo, but could tank several at once quite easily (2 Dull Pains!).

26 levels of Invuln Tank (all of Invuln except Unstoppable)
4 levels of Regen Scrapper (Fast Healing, Reconstruction, Quick Recovery)
18 levels of Fire Blaster (do I need to explain?)
Then uhh, probably two levels of EA Stalker (Hide and Kinetic Shield)


Great Resistance and Defense, good Regen, two heals, good recovery and nice damage.

Four. Second protector bot isn't until 24.

You are violating the rules of not being able to have the same AT twice.

I think I would do a level 40 MA/SD scrapper (my main) and level 10 Rad/DP defender. Fully slotted Shield Charge with a RA (self - heal means no medicine pool yay!), AM, RI, and EF, plus a pistol attack for extra coolness. Yes, I will!

8 Levels of a Dark armour tank, for awesome shields and heal.
16 Levels of a Shield brute for defence and AAO.
18 Levels of a Fire Blaster for attacks.
8 Levels of a Plant controller for Seeds of confusion and Accelerate metabolism and Radiation Infection.

Resists, positional defence, high damage and a cone confuse... Seems a tad overpowered.

One fun angle I would want to take is having a ranged weapon and a melee weapon. I don't know where I'd split it though... but having Dual Pistols and Dual Blades would be neat.

In this thought experiment, how do inherents work? Because if one level grants you the inherent then I'd definitely mix it up.

A level 32 Electric/Shield Scrapper and level 12 Electric/Kinetic Controller with one level of WS, PB, then two levels of Brute (Fiery/WP) and Defender (Dark/Sonic).

Staple Scrapper attacks and shields, including LR and SC.
Transfusion, Siphon Power, and Siphon Speed, with Conductive Aura.
Tar patch and Twilight Grasp.
Then the auto powers from WS, PB, and WP for a good chunk of free +resists.

Fury on Scrapper powers.
Cosmic Balance, Dark Sustenance, and Vigilance make it so no team means extra damage, and every teammate adds two (usually) awesome buffs, and some Endurance reduction.

The immense +damage would means having some of these level 1 attacks (or 2 in the Brute case) to mix up damage types depending on the enemy.

Edit: I didn't point this out before, and even pointing it out now seems kind of silly. Because so many inherents are actually linked to the powers (like Scrapper powers have a chance to critical caked in, Controller powers have a chance to overpower) I would assume even in this hypothetical that most inherents wouldn't have an effect cross-AT. That's why I just listed the few that offer global bonuses, rather than have altered attacks and so on.

Level 32 Assault Rifle Blaster/Level 18 Traps Defender.

I don't use Time Bomb or Trip Mine anyway so it would basically be my Traps/AR Defender with Blaster level damage .

If you get the inherent powers for all ATs you have levels in, all of my characters would have one level of Brute and one level of Corruptor. Yes, I'll take a scourging Blaster with Fury, please.

Ooh, and different ATs that have the same powerset. I could make a Defender/Corruptor/Mastermind with triple Darkest Night.

/Shield Scrapper with a few levels of /SR Brute to softcap really straightforwardly! Dominators with Siphon Speed! Blasters with a secondary in Traps!


Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Right you are...ok:

Level 4 Peacebringer (Luminous Aura is essentially the same as Invulnerability for Scrappers in terms of powers to level 4)

18 levels Stone/Shield Brute (Hammers, Seismic Smash, Against All Odds and mez protection)
32 levels Kin/Son Defender (Most of Kin, enough of Son for all the -res)

Brute HP/Damage cap, Kinetics powered with AoE and ST -res and spike damage ST attacks..
RUN COWARDS!

Alternatively..

41 levels Plant/Psi Dominator, Fire Mastery at 41 (All but Spore Burst and Spirit Tree from Plants, anything but especially Drain Psyche, Psychic Scream and Psychic Shockwave from Psi, Fire Ball from epic)
2 levels Fire/En Blaster (Fire Blast, another Fire Ball, Power Thrust)
2 level Fire/Dark Corruptor (Fire Blaster, yet another Fire Ball, Twilight Grasp)
5 levels of Stone/Fire Brute (Stone and Heavy Mallet, Healing Flames)

Domination and AoE control/chaos, plus an attack chain consisting of Fire Ball (epic), Psychic Scream, Fire Ball (Blaster), Fire Ball (Corruptor, if Scourge is still in effect for it), run in and Psychic Shockwave, repeat.


I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

I'd be doing something crazy like:

Dark Tanker 6 - Armors
Regen Scrapper 4 - Quick Recovery
Brute Willpower 16 - Rise to the Challenge
Dark Mastermind 4 - Twilight Grasp/Tar Patch/Darkest Night
Rad Defender 2 - Radiation Infection/Accelerate Metabolism
Fire Blaster 18 - Gotta have some damage
