Well, 1 shard every time you run the mission means a 1/18 drop rate, which would be in line with these numbers. A higher sample size would be nice.

Justice raids very often too. In fact, the Justice crowd taught the (current) Freedom people how to raid. Freedom wasn't raiding Hami much at all (and had a very low success rate) until November of last year, when the free transfers happened and some Justice people moved to Freedom to teach us the ropes.

Lady grey tf I always get 7-9 shards. Someone said they got 21 but I think he was lying. Cim tf I have gotten 12 before but usually get around 7 that's kill all's.

I've never been on a Hamidon raid. What's the best way to join? Just show up? Or are there specific times that I should be "in game?"

If you're on the Freedom server, shoot a tell to @Leandro; we have a global channel to put them together. Going to the board for your server and asking there would be a good idea.

I'm on Freedom. I was looking for a Hamidon thread but didn't see any, so I tried this one. I'll look for the global channel though.

Some, yes.
Really, it depends on how active members of that server's population are about organizing events like this. For example, Champion has had fairly regular Hamidon raids for years, sometimes three or four a week, despite not being one of the top two servers. It usually ranks between fourth and sixth in server load.

The channel name is "Essence of the Earth", but it's invite-only in an attempt to keep leechers out. So, PM me for an invite.

We ran Hamidon twice in a row, getting Merits the first time and Shards the second time. Counting both raids, my team qualified for drops from 119 mitos (that is, 119 mitos gave us Influence rewards) and I personally got 10 shards out of it. That's a 1 in 12 drop rate, and it might be better, since the sample size is rather small. I didn't ask around what everybody else got, but it seemed like everybody got 4-6 shards from each raid, plus the 4 shards at the end.

I reached the Hive wondering how long it would take me to craft my Alpha Slot; one hour and a half later, I had it crafted with 3 shards to spare.
That's too small of an amount of kills to state that the drop rate his higher.

A little question Leandro.
I have a feeling that it is already answered, just wanted a clarification.

Like in the Mothership raids, if one player targets a rikti and does something to it, the entire team gets credit. Is this the same for the Mitos?
If I say have one team member attacking one yellow mito, the entire team gets a chance for a shard drop?

I envy you the quick hamidon raids, we got to plan it ahead for about a week, and then when the day of the Raid comes and the spawning is complete. It ends with me having to fish for more players to attend the raid. (Worst part of the raid really, else it is smooth )

Yes they do, each person on that team gets a roll for each and every kill. Now I'm not sure if they'd get a chance roll for splash damage, so lets say you let out an AoE and it hits 10 but only kills 5 and then someone else on another team comes along and kills the rest of those 5 and it gives your team a chance roll for those 5?

Yes. I am usually the only Controller in the Tanks team so the Tanks can get credit for the Mending Mitos, and likewise the Controller team has a token Melee character so they get credit for the Mito Antibodies.

I got home at 3:30 PM PST last night, and rushed out to The Hive... saw Hive 1 and Hive 2, entered Hive 1... oops! Too late! Most people were already done with the first raid and in Hive 2. Exited, tried to enter Hive 2... it was already full.

I hung out in Hive 1, certain that with the early starts for the first two raids + the number of people wanting to run raids for their shards, that there would be a third raid. Most of the time there's only 2, but the third raid not only happened but was ready to start up just a few minutes after the 2nd finished.

Got 3 shards very early on... then nothing more. Still, not bad!

I think the only real difference between a small server raid and a large server raid is that on the small server you have the same group of core veteran players every time, while on a large server raid you have people every raid who have probably never done a hami raid before. I think virtually every time I show up, there's at least one person just on my own team who hasn't done it before, or not in 4 years, or whatever.

Even when it's mostly veteran players, they're probably people where I recognize their names from past raids, but it's not like we TF together every night. Those things can make a difference. ^_^

I had been wondering how to get involved in more hami raids. Would you mind if I sent you a tell as well Leandro? I'm relatively new to Freeom and have been learning the ropes (quite a culture shock from my old small server).

Uh, Virtue Raids are mostly lead by a core group of raid leaders and attended by a large but veteran group of players.

PS. You don't end up running 2 - 3 raids (on rare occasions 4) without being efficient. Yay for days when we skip two blooms.

Sure thing; I won't be online tonight because I have to work, but send a global tell anyway and I'll send you a channel invite when I am online.

Also, updating the numbers:
