Leslie Nielsen passed away ...
I heard this once - "It takes a good actor to do drama, it takes a great actor to do comedy."
Based on my little experience with movies, I don't immediately recall a great actor who wasn't good at comedy when they had a chance to try it.
The Daily Show ran a favorite line of mine last night in a clip:
Frank Drebin: Thats a red light district, what would he be doing there?
Ed: Sex, Frank?
Frank Drebin: ...No, not right now, Ed. Weve got work to do.
Arc #6015 - Coming Unglued
"A good n00b-sauce is based on a good n00b-roux." - The Masque
Leslie Nielsen will be missed. R.I.P.
He was the best president ever. (He played the president in HotShots). R.I.P. Leslie
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!
I can only echo the sentiments here: Leslie Neilsen was a fantastic performer. I still laugh at all the Naked Gun moveis today, Airplane and even Spy Hard. I still remember his appearances on Due South as Sergeant Duncan "Buck" Frobisher RCMP.
I will miss him a lot.

Pneumonia? That's no way to die.
Getting caught in the gears of a combine. Now that's a way to go.
Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!
Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.
Well, he had his family around him and was still making people laugh in hospital (which is a big building with doctors and patients in it, though that's not important right now.)
He even made brilliant adverts:

Oh, and Commander Adams... rowr.
*ponders what would happen if Adams and Mal Reynolds ever met in the same space*
*tries to work out how to get to that space*
*retires to bunk*
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Of course, that's all sorts of awesome.

Yep, been a long time since I watched that movie. I think that was also Robbie the Robot's first appearance too.

And, apparently, he was the deadpan voice of Generation X/Y, judging by the reactions of my friends. Who knew?
