Shadowy Presence invisibility power

So, I see that the Complete Going Rouge* is on sale for ten bucks after Turkey Day.

Among its features, I noted (*in addition to some make-up) the Shadowy Presence invisibility power. I pre-ordered GR back in the spring. How do I now get my mitts on this power without shelling out ten bucks for the Best Buy deal?

Though I will if it means I can apply the code for the sake of the power *and* a free month of play. Info anybody?

the complete collection is different from the pre-order, you can buy the complete collection's item pack for 8(?) bucks and it would contain the power and the two costume sets. I don't think complete and pre-order stack however.

One thing you should know; this power is fairly useless. You can only trigger it while not in motion, and once you do move, it deactivates. Auto-powers would also turn it off, amongst a whole host o' other things. I wouldn't bother goin' for the pack for this power alone. I would do it for the costume pieces, however.

I added the Complete Collection even though i already had prepurchased Going Rogue to get the extras and the additional game time. Do not buy it for the Shady Uselessness power, but for the one month's game time for $9.99 and other extra costume bits if you buy it. So far the power has no use at all other than looking sort of cool for five minutes as long as you don't move or activate any other powers. Still, for what it's worth, you can stand there and do emotes while all inky until you get bored or five minutes goes by.

The costume pieces are pretty good.

The power looks awesome (try using it with costume parts with glow)... but its so limited that actually its only for showing off... I would like if they reduced the looooong recharge on it, or at least dont give it a set duration (make into a click that works until the ending condition happens or a toogle)

Yes. I can get lost on a straight-line map.

i would also have to agree that the shadowy presence power just absolutely sucks and has little to no actual use in real situations

however, the costume pieces and junk are pretty freaking awesome

Try as I may I can't come up with any use at all, even a highly situational one, for Shadowy Presence.

It works like so:
You're standing absolutely motionless.
You activate the power.
You wait out a several (5?) second interruptable activation time.
You turn solid coal black and are invisible!
Someone bumps into you and you're visible again!
A power autofires and you're visible again!
You as much as change facing and you're visible again!
A mob wanders by and you're visible again!
5 minutes passes and you're visible again! *note that I've NEVER seen this power last that long without getting interrupted.

As has been said it's the single most useless power in the game as you can do literally NOTHING while it's up. Wandering patrols will bump into you and turn it off, you breath on your keyboard or move your mouse and you can turn it off. Even taking a character into a back room of my SG, disabling all autofire powers and moving away from the keyboard it still turns off after a minute or two at the most.

I've used it while resting or going afk, to hide from any possible enemies.

The problem with using it while resting is that by the time it takes effect you're already nearly back up to full health and endurance.

Still, it can be useful if you're in a hostile area and going AFK for less than five minutes.

Remarkable, isn't it? Compare the value and popularity of the Shadowy Presence power to Ninja Run.

So... pretty much unless I'm making the Inkpot Avenger, this power's completely stupid? Check.

if shadowy presence was a toggle with a long rech after detoggle, and provided a minor stealth radius (no more than 15-20 ft) with the about the same end cost as ninja run, it would be more useful than it is now

but how it is now, its fairly useless, even if you want to afk for a few min as the mentioned reasons of auto powers or even wandering patrols

The only thing I like about Shadowy Presence is that it proves that it's possible for the devs to use Power Customization to make Stealth look the way I want it to.

It would be more useful as an emote, honestly.

No it doesn't. Not anymore than the different holds having different appearences/some make the targets choke instead of freeze prove that they can use power customization make holds look different.

In other words, just shows they power was set up different than regular stealth.

I don't see why you wouldn't say that a hold that, say, makes a target choke does not mean the same animation cannot be used on another hold.

Sure if the CAST TIME of the two powers were different, of course the same cast animation could not be used. But we are not talking about the cast animation. We are talking about the sustaining power graphic on a toggle.

We know that sustaining effects can be customized, the sustaining effect of Unstoppable or Temp Invulnerability can be customized to a different color. The only reason it couldn't be changed is if the "darkening" effect of Shadowy Presense was a unique effect, like a costume change. But if it's just a normal graphic effect, then it can be used the same as the new alternate animations in I19.
