If you do not slot the Alpha slot with anything and you do the incarnate TF's. This will be the scenario. You will be 4 levels less then a player with the alpha slotted.
So lets say the enemies will be lvl 54. Your team mates will be lvl 50 and you will have the power of being lvl 46. That is 8 lvls difference. Good luck in hitting stuff... and survive. (Thats atleast my impression)

So your ability to hit enemies, avoid being hit by them, the damage to and received from enemies, it all functions as if you are 46. IIRC correctly pets and pet-based powers still spawn and function at level 50, but i expect that's a bug that will be fixed, so it's best to simply unlock the slot, run a couple high level TFs, and craft a boost before running an Incarnate TF.
