How to Buff the Buffer

Force Field has some of the greatest defensive buffs in the game. I feel there a few things that should be added to it to make it a more wanted set. There are 2 main things I would love to see, defense debuff protection and sleep protection from the Dispersion Bubble. What do you guys think?

Yes Please !

Both changes would make alot of sense for Forcefields.

BIOSPARK :: DARKTHORN :: SKYGUARD :: WILDMAGE
HEATSINK :: FASTHAND :: POWERCELL :: RUNESTAFF

Sleep protection would be very nice.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

I can't be sure of course, but I think it's by design that defense debuff resistance is only available in self only powers.

Sleep protection?
Oh yeah! I've never understood why this was there, and its a major annoyance.

Defence Debuff Resistance?
It would certainly be nice to not have my main contribution neutered by Earth Thorn Casters for the 5 levels they appear. Could there be problems in giving DDR to characters who already have some defence eg softcapped Blasters or Shield users? Nahh, I doubt it, since FF is going to push them so far over the cap it doesn't matter anyway.
So this one is good for the bread-and-butter SO-using team with an FF-er.

Yes to both.

+1. Soft capping team and making it rather difficult for that fact to change. I would be rather surprised if that ever got changed.

[Shield Defense.Grant Cover]

Interestingly enough, the wiki entry doesn't mention it, but Mid's and the game both do... it offers defense debuff resistance to everyone within 15'.

@Gilia1
I play heroes on Champion.
I play villains on Virtue.

So it does. Both its recharge debuff and defense debuff resistance are granted to teammates in the area.

Well there not granted to me

I wish they had an ally version of personal force field. A toggle that super charges their defense and resistance, but doesn't let them attack. Put it on a really long recharge and short-ish duration so you can't abuse others with it.

I think the rational was to give it some weakness so as not to compete with sets that provide more comprehensive mez protection but require individual buffing. Personally though I think FF should get sleep protection so as to give it a boost over Traps.

I can see why Defense Debuff Protection wasn't included in the original version of Force Field. In the game we have today, though, its absence is glaring.

I also think Repulsion Bomb's cast time needs either a serious reduction, or the damage and stun chances upped to compensate for its glacial pace. I'd also accept the power creating a mini knockdown-field after landing, with a chance to continue knocking enemies over for a period of time after the "bomb" lands in place of a change to animation speed.
