CoP Doubleheader - 11/21/10

I will be organizing a CoP double-header on Sunday (11/21/2010) at 5pm EST (2pm PST). We'll start gathering in Pocket D approximately 30 min before. If you are interested in running do one of three things.

2. Send and in game email to @Omega Shockwave
3. Send a tell to @Omega Shockwave

Please let me know the name/AT/primary/secondary of the character you'll be bringing. If you have multiple options to bring, that's great, but please let me know who you would prefer to use. This is NOT meant to exclude certain AT's/sets. This is to help assign players to teams as quickly as possible while balancing the teams out properly.
(Side Note: If your character has a quirk to it, such a being a tank without taunt or a bubbler/thermal without the shields, please let us know about if ahead of time. And no, it doesn't mean you can't participate, just let us know.)

I'm going to be a little picker about the characters selected for the next few. Mostly this means once certain roles fill up, additional players wishing to participate for the same role, will be listed as an alternate. If we can't find 24 to fill all roles, obviously we'll take what we can get.

For those who are serious about getting this badge/alpha slot shards/actually being part of a successful trial, I'm expanding what is being run. Here's the planned schedule (all times are EST and subject to delays)

4:30pm - Start Gathering in Pocket D
5:00pm - Targeted start time for Red Side CoP. (realistically will be 5:30, )
6:15pm??? - Rikti Raid; One run only, enough so players can get the vanguard heavy. (to begin immediately after the first CoP)
7:00pm??? - Organized Shivan run immediately after Rikti Raid.
7:30pm - Targeted start time for Blue Side CoP.

This week the first run will be red side and the second will be blue side. Every week this order will be flipped so that the opposite side starts first. So, if you set up a character to run a villan/hero morality mission, you'll be able to run your morality mission during the shivan run (if doing this make sure you've got shivans taken care of ahead of time) and run 2 CoP's with the same character in the same day. So if you're a rogue and want to run twice, set up your character so you have done 10 hero alignment missions and only need to grab/run the hero morality mish to become a Hero, .

Couple of things...

1. Make sure you are of Hero or Vigilante alignment.
2. Have at least 10 or so uses of the Envenomed Dagger at your disposal.
3. If you can get Shivans/HVAS, please try to do so. This is not a requirement, but it does help out a lot.
4. Stock up on inspirations. (details in the guide)
5. Actually READ the CoP Guide. Can't stress enough how much this helps out our chances of a successful trial.
6. Add yourself to the Guardian CoP Channel. We'll use this channel to communicate during the trial.
   1. If you don't know how to get in on the channel, here's how. Right-click in your chat window and select "Channel Search". Type in "guardian" as the search terms and click "Search". Select "Guardian CoP Trial" and click the "Join Channel" button.
   2. I recommend creating a new chat tab that only displays the Guardian CoP Trial channel.

Other notes:

• Grab a jet pack if you can't fly.
• If you're planning on an I19 respec, please consider adding in Assault. If we get 10 people on this trial with it, that's somewhere between a 105-188.8% damage buff for the group.

Red side:
I already have the badge and will bring whatever you want from: Stalker; Crab VEAT; Rad/rad corr; perma mind dom; fire/kin corr; dark MM; fire/dark corr is about 45

I want to bring my stalker for the Rikti Raid. All my blue chars have heavies already.

Blue side:
I no longer need to badge blue side and again will bring whatever you want from: Inv/ss tank (have tanked this before); spines/fire scrapper; fire/elec blaster; mind/ff troller; ill/sonic troller; dark/dark def (48)

Great to see your continued support of these Trials. I know it's easier to keep going when you have succeeded in them but the effort you put in and the great communication you provide is appreciated.

I queried using the Gurdian CoP Trial for instructions because I'm at the max limit for channels and I wondered about having a slot taken up by something I use so infrequently when Request is there and doesn't count. I take your point about people on the way back from the hospital but as you said; wakie/rez is a better option than 3 zones.

Anyway I'll be there with the following caveat; if the blue run starts very late I may bow out because it's quite late for me. I'll let you know after the Rikti Raid though. If you'd rather just presume I won't be around for that, that is fine.

To clear up the confusion about running this twice with the same character...

It CAN be run twice with the same character even though the second one will be on the opposite alignment.

What I meant to say if you're a Rogue during the red CoP you can potentially run this twice with the same character, NOT villain/rogue. (my mistake, was dead tired while posting) Villains cannot set it up so only 1 mission is needed before crossing sides, rogues can.

To do this, make sure you have run 10 Hero alignment missions before the Red CoP on your rogue. Then when we break for the Rikti Raid/Shivan reload (preferrably during the Shivan part), go grab/run your Hero morality mission. Presto! Now you can run it again on the opposite side.

The ability to do this is part of the reason I'm alternating which side runs first each week. It takes at least 8 days to go full circle with your alignment, but the way I've got it lined up you just need to go half way (4 days needed) each week to run it twice once you've got it set up correctly.

I'm sure not everybody will choose to do this, but I think it's a good option to build into these runs.

1) If you're reading this thread and want to join this, but haven't signed up for the forums yet, just send an email or a tell to @Omega Shockwave.

2) I appreciate that people are willing to bring whatever we need to these, but it makes it really hard to plan out the teams in advance. The best solution is to let me know who you're planning on bringing to the trial and if you have the ability to bring something different in the event our teams are not balanced. I don't need to know the alt chars, but I would like to know the following from who you intend to bring.

• Character Name
• Level
• Primary Powerset
• Secondary Powerset
• Quirks (eg. tank w/o taunt, bubbler w/o shields)

Flawless

Other than the extra organizing time for the redside run (which happens), this weekend triple header was spectacular. My redside toon, who I had to dust off with a hurricane earned his badge, the Rikti raid netted me nearly 500 merits for my blueside badge toon and finally, it was such a pleasure to see Big Red when we entered the Cathedral. Fantastic effort by all parties, from the top down.

I will definitely run these again if organized and now that I have the badge on my main (and other than getting the MoSTF and MoKahn) I can finally delve into the redside with him and get all those badges so I can come close to the leaders.

For future blue runs, I can bring along my dark x 3 defender (50), a sonic/emp defender (45) and a fire/kin controller (50).

If you didn't get a spot on one of the runs Sunday, I hope to see you on the next one. Remember that "PRE-REG" is the best way to lock a spot in for you...unless of course you volunteer for team leader duties of course.

I would like to send a special kudos to Shadow Ravenwolf, who generously gave use of his Ventrillo server. It really makes a difference for organizing. And it's nice to put a voice to some of the characters we team with.
