  1. Okay...I was just testing to see if people are actually reading this forum. That was from a Lambda of course.

This is the real screenshot (not the best ever though)...

  2. The Raid for November 20th, 2011 was completed. Thanks to Darius Stain, Asri, and Kiiawa for leading teams this week.

Sorry we didn't have a run last week. I had an unexpected work thing that had to be taken care of.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. We have three lively teams for most of the runs.
    2. We had the start of a fourth team on the first run.
    3. Got the best screenshot ever!

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. I didn't balance out the teams early so Team 4 on the first run had a rough start.

    Keep up the great job!

Thanks SupaFreak. It's good to know that people are having fun at them. =D
  4. The Raid for November 6th, 2011 was completed. Thanks to Xiao Jie, Dawn Starr, Dreambolt, Doomshadow, White Heart, Silver Serpent, and Radiant-X for leading teams this week.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. We have FIVE full teams on the first run and a start of sixth team in the first round!!!
    2. Lots of new faces.
    3. We ran four teams during Round 2.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. I gave directions in team chat for a while today instead of league chat. hehe.
    2. Round 2 got a little rough near the end as people seemed to have DC'ing issues.

  5. ...you were okay when your paycheck was delayed a few days, but you would not tolerate the fact that your didn't get your Paragon Point at the appointed time.
  6. ...your weekly shopping list includes items to get from the Paragon Market.
  7. The Raid for October 30 th, 2011 was completed. To get into the spirit of Halloween, I was dressed up in my Zombie Lightstar costume throughout the entire event. Thanks to all those the lead a team today. Great work!

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. Had a strong turnout even during the Halloween event. We fielded 4 teams on both runs.
    2. We even did some Trick or Treating before hand.
    3. We had great discussions. Including a conversation about names.
    4. In the last run, I switched out my team to all controllers. hehe.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. I was busy joining people and missed giving one of my directions. Not an issue though.

  8. The Raid for October 23th, 2011 was completed.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. Had a strong turnout even during the Halloween event.
    2. We even did some Trick or Treating before hand.
    3. Groups came together quickly.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. We had a large number of defeats on the second run, but we still pulled it off.
    2. Getting harder to find a good snapshot that isn't full of auras. One photo was just all yellow. hehe.

  9. ...you've started asking Siri for character build advice.
  10. If you've turned your apartment into a replica of your supergroup base using nothing but the discarded pizza cartons that you've made over the months of gaming on CoH.
  11. The Raid for October 16th, 2011 was completed.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. We had a great turn out today, with a great mix of veteran players, returning players, and newbies.
    2. Had 2 runs today (with eventually 4 teams).
    3. I made no hiccups on the pylons announcements this week.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. Not sure if I was disappointed this week. We did have a point during the 2nd run which got a little rough, but we took the bowl back quickly.

  12. The Raid for October 9th, 2011 was completed.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. Had a good turn out despite not having one last week. Three full teams with one partial afterwards.
    2. A lot of lowbies got to try the raid out.
    3. We still managed to get about 6 level 50 players.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. There was a point when I got lost with the order to the pylons because I was fielding invite requests in the middle of the pylon run.
    2. We didn't spawn the GM on our first attempt. We managed to get him to spawn, but after many player defeats.

  13. The Raid for September 25, 2011 had a shakey start, but we completed two runs. As always, the team leaders make it happen for us. So thank you for leading a team.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. Completing each raid with what I consider the minimium safe number of people to start (18).
    2. Started the second raid with less than my safe number (15). The 2nd run went rather smoothly, showing that sometimes it's what you play the field with rather than the number of soldiers.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. Not fielding full teams.
    2. Having a larger number of defeats than we are accustom to.

  14. The Raid for September 11, 2011 completed successfully. It was the most fun I've had in a long time on CoH.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. Have three runs this time. (Run 1 had four full teams and a partial. Runs 2 and 3 had three full teams and a partial.)
    2. The group was chatty and fun.
    3. Still made the vigil in Galaxy. Thanks DE.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. I accidently transferred Mr. Body incorrectly and put him on a lower level team which instantly killed him. Eek!
    2. Could not add a player because they were already associated to a team, which I eventually got onto the league. I think the code really needs some more work.

  15. Happy Birthday.

Sorry I missed it the first time round.
  16. The Raid for September 4, 2011 completed successfully.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. We leveled several players.
    2. We scored close to 900 merits.
    3. A lot of people got to play characters they normally didn't get to bring.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. As before, we were not able to run a second attempt. We were close a few times, but as we added people, we would lose others.

    Photo:

  17. Just a reminder that there will be a raid this Sunday at 5:00PM EDT (2:00PM PDT).
  18. The Raid for August 21, 2011 completed successfully. I will not be present at next week's run, but the raid will take place and will be run by a substitute raid leader (one I have a lot of confidence in). Please extend him the usual courtesy that you always provide me.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. We managed to run at least one attempt, even though we did not have three full teams. There were no major blunders that forced us to regroup.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. Was not able to run a second attempt.
    2. Had to kick a person from the league.
    3. Was not able to get an actual action shot from within the bowl.

  19. ...if they made a card after you...

(Okay...it's not really an official card, but I found a place that makes them...hehe)
  20. The Raid for August 14, 2011 was a great success. As always, the team leaders make it happen for us. So thank you for leading a team.

Highlights for me on this run were:
    --------------------------------
    1. Dark Energon announced his snaphot contest. Looking forward to seeing what people captured.
    2. We run three runs tonight (with demand for a fourth).
    3. We fielded four full teams for most of the runs! Usually we only run three teams per run.
    4. At one point there was a glitch in the League Interface, and I had 10 people listed on my team.
    5. Lots of people leveled. Lot a people got merits and XP.

    Disappointments were:
    ---------------------------------
    1. We had a slight misstep on the 3rd run with the bowl. We regrouped on the ledge and everything went smoothly from there on out.

  21. I believe that Omega had originally intended/hoped all the post would be actually anecdotes, reflecting how trully addicted to the game we are.

Unfortunately, he gave the example of using "You might be a Redneck" jokes, where the emphasis and humor is really on the absurdity of being the Redneck. With Redneck jokes (or any joke about a group of people), you have some level of truth to the statement (usually the stereotype). Do we really think all Rednecks are dumb and call their drunk wifes loaded dishwashers? I hope not. It just wouldn't sound as funny to say..."You might be a Redneck...if you have live in a trailer park on 100 W Birch Drive in Kansas."

Granted...to some degree, we can say we have done some of our addictive behaviors (thinking sprinkler heads at the park were exploration badge markers, for example, is something that happened to me once. Removing the mention of "once", makes it sound like an addictive habit as if I always see sprinkler heads as markers now). For me, I've basically taken something that is a normal everyday occurance for me the game (like obsessing over day-badges), apply it to an everyday occurance in daily life (work), and if needed, take it to the extreme (applying the behavior of standing in the lobby of a building at work to get a reward, when in reality, I would be fired). In the vein of Redneck jokes, I've also taken things that I find annoying about the game, like posing in cutscenes, and try to point out the absurdity of doing that behavior by commenting that addicts do that in real life too.
  22. That's gives me an interesting idea. How about a post the best action clip of the raid contest? hehe.
