Demon summon demons, they all look the same, weak!

I must say I feel a bit cheated. I came back after 2 years, paid 15 to re-up, and 30 bucks for the expansion to play the DS set, only to see they really cheesed out. The demons basically all look the same except for size, and horns, minor crap. I cant believe it. Thats the best they could do for a paid expansion? Fire/ Ice, no dark powers? No poison? There demons, they should have all kinds of powers.

Research is your friend. Numerous videos litter the internet with Demon Summoning being showed off.

I mean, I don't fork out $40 without knowing what I'm getting. Apparently you did and now feel the need to complain about it.

Demon Summoning is matched up fine when compared to the other sets.
The only real complaint could be the annoying sound they make constantly. Which is why I'm not playing them... yet.

Good day to you sir.

Well, I would think it'd be obvious that a MM would get all their demons from a similar place (In the other worldly place they're from, I forget which otherworldly place it is but nontheless...)

I knew what the first 2 summons of demons looked like way before I got them (There were a few videos on Youtube showing them off)

Of course they could have looked very different, the fact they worked really hard on the whip attacks (Which are awesome sauce)

The demons have Fire, Ice and Hellfire (Fire + Toxic) which makes sense considering where they came from...

Also you bought the expansion just to play DS? Wow... completely ignoring Praetoria, Kinetic Melee, Electric Control and Dual Pistols...

Do research to know what you a buying...

yup, those sounds....eww. But I finally rolled one and it isn't too bad so far. All MM petsets generally look the same throughout the tiers, what were you expecting(Mercs in black suits, thugs in standard attire, zombies as...zombies)??

As far as varying damage you should read the info; Fire, Ice, Toxic, and slow-based cold. And mine hasn't gotten the 2nd tier pets yet, but it looks like stone-armor (so possibly melee) too. I was very impressed when I started reading the Demon's info.

You want a set to complain about looking all the same try Ninja's.
My tier 1's don't even have a costume change when the upgrades are applied. No change at all. I had to look really close at the Jounin just to
see his second sword appear...
Talk about drab.

The Tier 1 Genin do change. They get a pouch on their waste and a mask.

No one pays attention to me, cause I listen to the voices in my head.

Negative, I checked the wiki pictures and saw the bag.
My tier 1 have no visual upgrade at all. No bag, no headband. natta.

I'm sure it's a bug... just thought it wasn't just me.

Actually they do have poison. The Hellfire users (Hellfire Demonling and Hellfire Gargoyle) both have Toxic DoTs, just like the whip attacks do. Many of their attacks do as much or more Toxic damage as they do Fire or Lethal.

That means demons do Smashing, Lethal, Fire, Cold, and Toxic damage... that's more variety than pretty much any other set.

Cheated? Really?

First off, many love the look (as do I).

Secondly, the set has been available for what, months now to pre-orders? You didn't think to once get on the internet and look up screenshots or videos?

They get no visual change with the first upgrade (The one available at level 6) since they were changed to not have bows. They do however get a visual change with the second upgrade (Available at level 32)

They are actually pretty tough, have a good variety of damage, and the set is, overall, up on par with thugs if you know what you're doing with it. I mean, no, my DS is only like lvl 20, because she's not on the same server as my friends, but still, so far I have to say they are very good.

My only complaints would be:
1. They are slower than other henchies. But what do you expect? They are essentially big, huge, lumbering apes that walk on their knuckles.

2. They roar way too much, especially when you're sitting at the black market trying to concentrate on putting a recipe together, and some guys' demons are having a scream-fest right next to you. And their breath stinks.

3. They run into melee a bit too much, getting out of my beneficial AoEs. I think they might have borrowed the zombie horde AI for 'em. However, I still haven't seen 'em with the second upgrade, so I really don't know what they'll be doing then when they run up into melee. They might be getting every bit of that mob. And I won't know until I see it.

4. They're a little on the big side. In stupid caves, that could become a major hemmorhoidal issue very quickly.

5. None of the ones I've seen around look like summoned succubuses, so.... um, yeah... I know a lot of folks, mostly guys, have been wanting that. And no, I'm not gonna dress up like one, I'm still gonna be wearing my pajamas. And fighting bad guys. And going rogue. In my pajamas. Nothing beats kicking an Arachnos in the face in Sock Feet!! Nothing is more Evil than running around in missions in just your socks, when you're Mom told you not to!!

And actually, you can come kinda close to having Sharks, with Freakin' Laser Beams on their Freakin' Foreheads, if you take Leviathan Mastery, School of Sharks and Spirit Shark or whatever it's called. Demons and Sharks, in a roaring melee of mayhem and chaos and destruction and it all becomes a swirling, spinning, fiery, icy, toxic, dark energy toilet flush of XP that sucks all the enemies down to hell. (Pinky to corner of mouth) Muhu Ha Ha haha!! MWA hahahahaa! MU HU hahahaha ha! ah haha hahahaa... ahhh, yeah...

Well... it should be anyways. Ah heh. *sniff*

I feel the opposite, they actually make me feel a built guilty heroside because they are so ferocious looking. I mean, I picture these poor vanilla criminals like the Family sitting around discussing their latest black market or smuggling scam.

It just seems a little...overkillish to send the forces of Hell after common thugs.

Give them some Enriche. /petsay <em drinkenriche> (or any other emote that lasts until you do something else) shuts them right up. Kole-Aid: Not just for Loyalists any more!

all Demons have at least one pretty nasty melee attacks, so I see this as more of a good thing. They also have a lot of cones so being up close to the action is where they belong.

Seriously?

So blasting them apart with storms, cursing them with darkness, incinerating them with fire, ripping them in two with deadly poisons and bombarding them with technological devices isn't overkill? May I remind you that all of the aforementioned are FIRED FROM YOUR HANDS AND FACE?

My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor
"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."

So... how are Demons more overkill than summoning zombies to vomit acid on people, or "arresting" them with swords, machine guns, or massive blasts of coherent radiation? (Last time I checked, most machine guns don't have a Stun setting. Even rubber bullets are still pretty dangerous, especially at close range.) And even the classic "safe" powersets like Super strength would be pretty deadly, if you consider taking a full strength punch from someone who can bench press a bus.

Dark powers are pretty much covered with Necromancy, so Demon Summoning covering Fire, Ice and Toxic seems like a good mix to me. It will work well with any "elementalist" magical summoner concept, and so both Thermal and Storm Summoning will work well with them, as well as Cold Domination when it is Proliferated.

They do look like over-grown rats...wish we had a few model choices for each pets...maybe in i20?
