Started at issue 701 . Anyone else find it really boring.

I am liking it. It is a very human story.

Meh. I just don't see the point of having Superman Forrest Gumping it across the USA to apply comic book solutions to "really real world" problems. *shrug*

Now if BOOM! did a spoof where the Plutonian walked in a straight line from coast to coast and destroyed everything in his path, that would be a more exciting read.

Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.

good luck D.B.B.

Not digging this arc dropped it after issue 702, and quite honestly getting sick and tired of Superman trying to get intouch with his human side, humanity, or what have you. To me Superman should be about inspiring people, not boring people to tears and giving some kind of snarky remark to everyone asking him why he's walking around doing jack and squat vs. flying in the skies and looking for evil and helping people out.

However I am enjoying JMS run with Wonder Woman. Think it's a great story so far.

This is why Captain Marvel will always ALWAYS be better than Super Man

Would this be the same run on Wonder Woman that somehow managed to confuse the Greek Underworld with the Christian Hell...?

This run on Superman at least acknowledges and uses elements of the previous "New Krypton" story and its fallout, as well as staying fairly faithful to the characters and their world. I'm not sure I'll be sticking with either series, though. I didn't even pick up the latest issues this week (though in Superman's defense, JMS isn't on writing chores for this month's offering).

So very much this.

Thought myself I rather see Superman beating up dome headed Gorillas or something. The latest issue was readable with some nice character moments with Lois Lane..

..At least DC hasn't ignored there marriage unlike Marvel with 2 certain characters!

"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.

and that is why you fail.

following on the heels of the New Krypton storyline, this has been a damn good story so far. definitely some of the strongest in a while, but i can see how some folks who're pretty much expecting a smashfest are disappointed.

I am torn. 701 and 702 were lackluster and I felt like he kind of dropped the ball when it came to accurately nailing the character. 703 was better but still had some weak points. Some elements of the story are downright preposterous. I get that he doesn't always take everything into consideration when he fights big bads and smashes them through buildings, but do we really need the panel with the old lady talking about her weak heart and how she almost had a heart attack from the fighting? Next issue we'll be seeing a boy complaining about how Superman's hand-clap killed a butterfly and made him cry. Considering he actually takes responsibility for the bedlam he inadvertantly creates when defending himself or others, something most other heroes do not do, I don't think Superman of all people should be victimized with this kind of heavy-handed colateral damage message, especially considering it's the same message he himself championed in Kingdom Come against Magog and his ilk. That's what really bothers me.

The problem is if you have been reading Superman the way I have been the last few years this makes a lot of sense. The whole horrible rebirth of Krypton and Supes uncharacteristicly turned his back on earth for that new Krypton.

He turned his back on everyone. If you read the last few years this story is needed. That and it is indicating Supes is doing this for another reason after he and Bruce have their argument. Superman maybe trying to draw one of his foes out. If so whom?

Just want to point out, that was Dick, not Bruce.

Well if DC loses all the court battles with the Superman estate, and then IF a subsequent deal isn't made with the estate to regain the rights to Superman, Captain Marvel/Shazam could very well become the replacement for Superman.

Not saying that DC/Time Warner WILL lose the Superman rights, but that CM is the likely successor.

Though can you imagine the shake up to the comics industry IF DC did lose the rights to Superman? Especially if Marvel managed to slip in and obtain the rights?

DC would probably have to have another "Crisis" level event just to erase Superman from their continuity, along with some if not all of his supporting cast, plus Superboy, Supergirl, the "S" shield, etc.

Anyway that's just speculation.

As to Captain Marvel being better then Superman, eh I tend to think of them as nearly equal, with the advantage going to Superman since he constantly absorbs solar energy and that he doesn't appear to have an upper limit to his strength vs. CM being at the same power level. CM gets an advantage due to being magically empowered and Superman isn't immune to magic.

Like CM said in Superman/Batman Public enemies as he pounds on Superman "You know....you've never been very good against magic, and magic is what I'm all about!"
