Do you get your costume right the first time?
I guess I'm the only one who deliberately does NOT get their costume "right" the first time for most of my characters. I like seeing my characters grow and develop into the hero/villain they want to be, so the older (i.e. higher level) they get, the more their costume reflects who they want to be.

Any character I get serious about playing will have two costumes to start out with, and acquire more. I go for concept, and the concepts are usually robust enough to support more than one costume idea.
Hardly any are ever complete, if only because I rely very heavily on Cimerora costume components, and those aren't available before level 35.

I've had a few characters which their initial costume was perfect from the gitgo. However all but one of those characters were generate using the Random button or were based on of the custom presets in the creator. I made a few tweaks and they were done. I've had precisely one character whom I've delibertly created and his costume held up over time. That was my Willpower/Stone Melee tanker. I started with the power sets and spent almost a month trying to think of a name that would encompass both power sets. I found the perfect name in "Mountainheart". And then I wanted to base his costume around a kilt. I found up with a tall maxed out Physique male bear chested male wearing the kick using the leather wraps for gloves and footwear. And I played around with skin and face patterns and wound up with Braveheart blue warpaint. The character literally built himself from my subconscious. He's level 50 now and still haven't bothered creating costumes on any of his other slots.
Once in a while, I manage but I normally tinker around with stuff.
The Resistance has boobs too, and better hair!
My namesake Tanker has pretty much kept his look constant (with exception of additional cape and aura) since issue 7 right up until three days ago when I finally swapped his chunky bracers for one of the newer gloves, haha.
All of my female Crey Clone sisters have kept their looks constant too, although two of them changed their hairstyles, haha.

Now also the other slots are for Personal Growth of my characters. Like for Mark Urial, His first character I got almost right right off the bat, but I also made two street costumes, and two "Evolved" character advancement costumes. The street costumes change frequently as they are not uniforms, and it costs quite a bit of Inf to do that lol. I am very picky.
Poor Coyote... I've always wondered what he did to piss off Statesman badly enough to earn himself a lifetime of telling newbies to punch sick people...

I'm so used to our Tailors here that I actually had a brain disconnect the other day. A friend of mine was playing a character in another game when I remarked about the nice, round, sexy breasts ON HIS GUY. My friend sort of panicked, because I was right, and immediately started contemplating rerolling him. I asked why not just retewak the sliders and he says "I can't!" I'm like "What, never?" Well, as it turns out, no, never. Ouch!
For what it's worth, the eponymous Samuel Tow went through a couple of updates. He originally had a full Buckled Leather suit, to which I added a white cape, and which suit I eventually swapped out for a full ExoProto suit. I should consider revising that again, however, as ExoProto boots look like ***, if you'll pardon my dialect.
