Halloween Badges, Team or Solo?
I would hope everybody on a team would get credit for these badges but I honestly don't know if that's true yet. I suppose we'll know soon enough. For what it's worth I managed to get several Halloween Tips within a few minutes on a couple of different characters I tested with. Not really sure if I was getting lucky with that or not. Guess I'll know about that soon enough as well.

Ryver 50 Ele Blaster [1392 Badges]
Silandra 50 Peacebringer [1138 Badges] [No Redside Badges]

To get the actual tip drops I'll likely be taking my Claws/SR scrapper solo missions set at x4 or higher... more drops because there is more to fight and they are all mine. Specially if there are badges involved and there is only a 10 day window to get them all.
If everyone gets the rewards for doing the missions on the other hand, after I have the tips then maybe a team.

If that's true I don't think adjusting mission difficulty settings is going to help.

Indeed, they do not drop from defeats but from Treats, same as Costumes, Inspirations and Rocks.
Plus, you have to be in Costume for them to drop. So adjusting your difficulty will do nothing.

Here's what I did:
I started in a level appropriate zone with diff set at +1/1
I clicked on a door. Trick.
I clicked on a door. Treat -> Scrapyard Costume
The costume comes like a temp power. I activated it.
I clicked on a door. Treat. --> Hellion costume.
after maybe 4 or 5 doors that were treats, (maybe 5 weren't) I got a tip.
I did that mission, got a badge.
I ToT'd some more maybe 4 doors? Got another tip.
rinse and repeat.
Took maybe 45 minutes to get the 5 badges plus the accolade. (and some nice halloween salvage and Very nice crafting salvage. )
Now to trade in the salvage.

My son and I did the Halloween tips together. We had all 6 badges in about an hour. The tips dropped rather quick.

I would think this would be a lot faster with a team, as long as everyone on the team is pretty tough. If not, it's probably about the same speed as solo.
Here's my thinking:
1) A team can spread out and click doors a heck of a lot more often than a solo person.
2) This results in more event tip drops.
3) When you run the tip mission as a team, EVERYONE gets the reward.
I got all the badges while teamed last night. Lots of door clicking and pretty much non-stop combat. Once we had 5 tips amongst the team members, we ran the mission 5 times.
Also worth noting:
1) Defeating the mobs counts for the event badges (and everyone on the team gets credit).
2) The mobs can drop Halloween Event salvage.
3) The mobs also drop regular rewards.

A little off topic, but I figure it's not worth making a thread over.
I've never bothered to get any of the Halloween badges in years past but I'm looking to get them all this time. I've gotten all of them except the ones associated with the GM spawns.
Is there anyway, other than people broadcasting, to know when/where these things show up? Do they accompany some other event?
There should be one GM in every event zone at all times. If he is defeated, a new one spawns quickly (1-2 minutes). Originally, each spawn had a 90% chance to be Eochai and only 10% for Jack in Irons. This year, the Jack spawn rate was increased. We were not informed to what percent chance.
Please note: Jack does not spawn in low level (below 20) zones.
Paragonwiki has maps of the spawn points.

Again, maybe slightly off subject. I've been fighting zombies as much as I can during the event, but I never see any bosses. is there a trick to the boss spawns?
Like the Rikti invasions, the rank and number of foes increase depending on how successful you are at defeating them. Larger teams fighting them, especially those with higher-level members, will mow down more Minions, causing more Lieutenants to spawn, and so on to Bosses and Elite Bosses. I seem to recall the explanation being that each defeated foe around you increased the "point value" of your group's threat, causing the game to spawn tougher mobs for you to fight.
Edit: Well, not exactly what I thought, but I was in the ballpark. The Dark Watcher explains Rikti invasion spawning mechanics here. I'd assume from experience with both events that zombies follow essentially the same formula/

So I did a tip mission with team, I decided to get the Power Hungry badge and it gave me everything but every time I check my badges, the picture for the badge doesn't show up. Instead, all I see is a little white square in its place. Any reason why? It gives me the credit but it doesn't wanna show the actual badge.
It's not that big an issue but I just wanna know why it's doing that. =/

Hi Polypro,
and looking at the other four badges and the Accolade, it figures that the missing artwork is the same as the other four but with a red book.

They have a graphic for it on the Events page here and your guess is correct.

Well, I don't doubt there's a graphic for it, I was just wondering why it didn't wanna show up at first. I'm sure it'll come back around at some point.
Hello everybody,
so we got a 10 day event kicking off tomorrow with 6 new badges (5 and an Accolade) gained through a special Hallowen tip mission drop.
I have seen some comments that these new tips are even more infrequent than the regular ones that can take a while to drop.
So I wondered what is the thoughts on maximising my chances of getting all of the badges by soloing or by teaming?
I will be running a lvl 50 Claws/SR scrappie that is no slouch at downing foes.
If I solo I guarantee every drop is mine, but teamed we should get so many more it might be faster.
Do we know if when teamed and a member gets a Halloween tip which is then run if all members get a reward pick?
Thanks for any responses/thoughts.
Cheers
