This is another draft of my Stone Melee/Fiery Aura Brute. I'm going for damage resist (trying something new) and recharge. Any more suggestions/critiques?

I'm also currently planning on throwing in a Numina:Unique and another Performance Proc when i19 goes live.

Whats with all the imp armors? You kinda never wanna more than 4 slot those and reactive would be way better on /fire.
Also FotG really kind of sucks in PvE and is a waste of money.
Focused accuracy also really sucks in PvE, not to mention the +tohit you gain is really crappy so slotting for that is useless.
Imo consume is way under slotted.
I highly recommend you try and get fighting in there, tough is sweet on a /fire even with high dmg mit sets like stone.
I also recommend dropping stealth for CJ.

The imp armors are there for the rech, rec, and partly for the added psi res. Reactive doesn't look like it fits very well in what I'm looking for.
FotG also fits in where I need it, with some kb prot, a little res, and a -res proc.
FA also helps...I have it on my main scrapper, and love it. Plus, it helps me get a little extra res and rech.
I wouldn't mind adding a little more to consume, I just don't see anything I could replace that wouldn't take away from something else just as much.
I alread have fighting, tough is one of the powers with the imp armor.
I might look into switching out stealth for CJ.

I just dropped one imp armor from tough and added shield wall: 3% res to weave.

Hey-- what are your goals with this build? Survivability? Recharge? Recovery? Another thing-- is this your build for issue 19 where Stamina becomes inherent? There are a lot of things that I would change, but would rather know what you want to do first.

I see that you have built for Psi resistance. One problem with building for Psi resistance is that all of that effort you did netted 20% resistance, which grants roughly the same mitigation as 10% defense. In fact, most of the resistance bonuses are so paltry that it's almost not worth pursing them in place of defense, max HP, or regeneration.

Impervium Armor is a great set-- not necessarily for the Psi resistance, but rather for the combination of recovery and +max endurance.

Edit:: Some more questions. Did you take Stealth because you like to ghost missions, or is it just a mule for a LOTG? I also see you only have 2 viable single target attacks. Would you want more? I know that I sure would.

Never see FA being 'bad' in PvE. With a character with no perception at all it is nice for smoke nades and the To-Hit helps on Nemesis vengeance.

The main goals are survivability and recharge, and yes, it's built for i19. My updated build has at least 1 imp armor taken off each power, with Imp Skin:globals added.

I took stealth with ghosting in mind, though I'm not sure I'll stick with that. The main reason I got that (or would go with CJ) is for the LotG. I'm also building with a focus on AoE.

I know this build isn't the best, I'm just fiddling with the idea for now. I'm also working on a defensive based build to compare it with.

One more question, when building for defense, would it be better to build for positional defense or delivery?

The only skills changed were swapping Stone Fist for Stone Mallet, and Focused Accuracy for Energy Torrent. If you want AoE and Survivability, there is nothing like adding Energy Torrent which is another skill providing chain Knock Down (Fault, Tremor, Energy Torrent).

Some other important points, you generally didn't take the damage procs from the purple sets. You ALWAYS want to socket those over the 53% damage enhancement. They add far more damage than an IO that slams against the ED cap. The only purple set where it's not worth taking the proc is Ragnarok in Energy Torrent, because Energy Torrent already has a 100% chance of Knock Down (which is really broken when you think about it).

Building for Smashing/Lethal defense is the best way to go, and achieving 33% Smashing/Lethal along with 70% global recharge is generally a nice balance in this build. At 32%, one small purple pill will soft cap you for 30 seconds, which is one of the big reasons you shoot for 30%+ Smashing/Lethal defense.

EDIT::

Just to add. Make sure that your -KB IOs are as low as possible. These are Global bonuses and will disappear if you exemplar below the level of that respective IO. In fact, I would recommend that you do the same with the LOtG +recahrge IOs. Grab level 25-30s instead of the level 50s.

For Brute "stealth" runs of ghosting missions I take + stealth from flight or running, then use fly or temp jet pack. That gets you to the end of most missions or to the glowies with minimal irritation, and uses no powers. The +stealth on run can go in inherent run, and raptor packs are sold at GV. Ghetto, but it works.

Thanks, that looks like a pretty good build. I'll probably slot one of those healing uniques into health when i19 goes live, so I'll have another slot to throw somewhere.

Yeah, I always slot a stealth into sprint. However, sometimes it just doesn't quite do it, so I was thinking about going with stealth. Oh well, I'll figure that one out later, it's not the most important part of the build.

That's a good idea. In fact, it's best to move all of the uniques (Numina, Miracle, Regenerative Tissue) down into Health so that you retain them when you exemplar.

Yet another good idea. I'll just have to figure out where to take the slots from. And I'm thinking a chance for end proc in stam would be a good idear too.

Julius, I made a few alterations in your build, dropped a couple percent in s/l def but i got about 4% extra in melee, plus a percent or two to most other types of def. Lost a little bit here and there on other stuff, I think it was in all worth it. I'm gonna repost with the new build in a new thread.

I don't know about that....your resist and def are almost all lower than the last build I have posted. You're max hp, regen and recovery are quite up there, but I'm not sure that slotting for those over def and rech is the best way to go. You also look to be built more for single target attacks, while I'm trying to focus more on AoE.

I don't have much experience with builds that take regen/rec/max hp without being built for it to begin with (my regen scrapper has all 3 built right in), so I can't give much of a critique/comparison on how well it would do vs being built for def/rech.

You might also want to start thinking about putting together your build with i19 in mind, where the fitness pool will become inherent. (You won't get any more slots, but fitness will still be slottable if you want to).
