Duo. Corruptors or Defenders?
One of each is probably best.
Corruptors still beat Defenders damage-wise, though; the Defiant buff brings a solo Defender's damage to about par with a Corruptor's before Scourge; with Scourge factored in, Corruptors will do more damage (and Corruptors have access to Fire Blast, which Defenders do not). In a duo, Defiant supplies less damage bonus, so the balance goes even more towards Corruptors there.
Depending on which sets you mix, Corruptor numbers might be "good enough", but Defenders still get noticably more out of their buffs and debuffs. A Rad/ and a Kin/ Defender pair, for instance, would probably come out on top of a /Rad and /Kin Corruptor pair, simply because of the stronger buffs and debuffs from the Defenders, even though the Corruptors have Scourge and slightly higher damage.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Which would make a better duo? And which would deal more damage (considering the new defender damage buff)?

Obviously it depends to some degree what sets and combos you pick, but generally that's how I feel. I don't think you can really buf each other up enough if you just have two Cors or Defs to work with. The meatshield is important. Plus Brutes and Scrappers do excellent damage too.
I think /Invulnerability for Brutes or Scrappers is good. Plays most of the game on easy mode and not too hard to IO for the highest level game play. Has a strong taunt aura for more "easy mode" with a Corruptor.
Or you can pick a "controller-esque" set like /Dark Armor. Bit harder to play but still very viable, esp. with IOs.
Either go damage on the Brute, like SS/Invul or Fire/Invul, or go self-suffcient like Dark/Invul. Then pair the Corr to that. If you went Smashing Lethal damage, pick Rad as the secondary. If you went something more exotic, pick Dark or Fire for the primary and then /Dark Miasma for the secondary.
My ideas:
SS/Invul Brute, Dark/Rad Corr
Fire/Invul Brute, Dark/Dark Corr
Dark/Invul Brute, Fire/Dark Corr
Dark/Dark Brute, Fire/Thermal Corr (stack resistances)
Dark/Dark Brute, Ice/Thermal Corr (more control in Ice)
Something like that would bring a lot to a duo, and you could add anything at all to this and the power would just go up. Great for teaming too.
Well,
Although a Corr duo seems like a better bet damage wise, a duo of two Emp/xx would be my way to go, with the ability to Fortitude one another, plus the Aura's, plus Adrenalin Boost which can be made Perma at 33 with Hasten going, you'll do damage at a rate that makes whatever bonus Corr's get seem trivial, toss in 2x Assault and Maneuvers and your basically untouchable.
Edited: Let me take out that last remark.
