Kidnapped!

Perusing the 9/28 release notes, I found this tidbit:

Quote:

City Zones
  • Someone had kidnapped all the wandering pedestrians in Paragon City. They have now been rescued to pace the streets once more.
Was this guy ever found? I'd like to pay him 50,000,00 inf to kidnap all the Flappin'-Hands Hannahs runnin' around inside missions.

Wasn't this, like, three weeks ago?

I'm pretty sure it was Nemesis, since some of the civvies seem to be Nem clones.

"Hey, it's that hero who defeated BOSS_NAME!"

...what?

Certainly. But I really didn't miss the civilians all that much, and it would be really nice if I could get them to STOP SHOVIN' ME AROUND IN MISSIONS!!!!!

Seriously. They keep doing that, and heads will roll, especially if they run in the path of my laser beam eyes!

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

One of the Praetorian missions (from Bobcat as I recall) has defeat-able civilians. This new improvement should be copied to all red side missions, now!

I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

Blue side ones too, we can just hand wave it.

"Superguy! I can't believe you vaporized a room full of civilians!"

"I didn't! I just , um, teleported them to safety with my eye beams."

"But, but look at all the scorch marks!"

"Sorry, I was in a hurry and there was some energy bleed off."

"They were screaming!"

"Um, well, sudden teleportation can startle people."

I would "+Rep" you, if we still could.

I don't care if they're in my missions, I just WANT THAT RUN SO BADLY as a Prestige Sprint.

I want to know why there are no children in CoX. I mean in the early days the mutant store was the only NPC child in the game. Some consider Penny a child (I see her as a teenager). There are also no doge, or cats.

We even have parks with play equipment.

The addition of any of the above would be a huge improvement to the game.

Now that I think about it, there are no gas stations or Churches/places of worship either. Very odd.

Now a disclaimer. As a game designer, I can see why the Kids, and churches were left out. If there are children, then they can be put in danger, and that might make some people upset. Same with churches, don't want to step on any religious toes. Even with that, the loss of these things take away some of the immersion.

I could see adding church-like buildings. Have the architecture, including the bell-towers, stained glass, minarets, whatever, but leave off the actual religious symbols and have the signs out front be either illegible or have extremely vague wording.
You know it's a church, but there's no cross and I can't read that sign.

Gas stations! (I can hand-wave this, since there's more than enough super-scientists and power-armor users and such that it's almost a given that cars with alternate fuels are available. How much money would Crey be making off of something like this? They got the resources and the manufacturing facilities!)

We have all these cars, yet there's no auto dealerships either.

I seem to recall there being child-scaled NPCs (as in, about half the size of 'normal' models) in Cap Au Diable. It was in the first area near the Oakes ferry.

There are no dogs or cats because they would have to create a 4 legged skeleton from scratch to put them in the game.

I can almost guarantee they aren't going to do that much work just so we can have some stray cats running around.
