Creating a buggy toon

Again with the bugs?! I can't have a bug control dom (yet) and MR. Samuel_Tow tossed the idea around about a bug MM, which also sounds awesome, so I'm settling for a toon with what we already have and an insect-ish costume, probably really small with whatever I can come up with for a suit/head/antennae, etc.

Here's the ideas for insect toons I've come up with so far:

Sonic/Elec blaster, maybe named Hissing Shockroach (the name is really making me want to go with that, but that's another thread)

???/Thorn dom, the barbs just scream insect to me.

Fire/Rad corr- This is a good combo to begin with from what I hear, and it would be cool for a some sort of fire ant toon.

any other ideas? I can't ask to see any shots of costumes that anyone has put together cause my work computer blocks sites like photobucket and flikr...

I had a Fire/Rad bug type character before. With some careful coloring, Fire Control powers can be made to look like some very convincing swarms.

I have a claws/da brute named Mighty Dust Mite. Organic shoulders, Spiked arms and feet, insect costume(black) Red bug eyes and antenae. Fun toon.

You could go any of several ways with insect concepts. I tend to think of them as "hard to kill" and might make either an invulnerability Scrapper (hardened exoskeleton) or a Regen, using either Spines or Claws.

When I saw this thread title, my first thought was, "He's looking for the toon whose powers are all mostly bugged?"

I definately think a Plant/Thorns Dom created using the insectoid costume elements would be awesome. The Plant connection would be because, you know, pollenation and stuff. Not to think too deeply about it...

Also, the fireflies aura which I think is coming in I19 might help. And isn't there a flies aura, like with the Vahzilok Wasting Disease? (so as not to have to get the disease itself)

I have 2 of those.

My Controller is a radioactive fire ant (Fire/Rad) and my Defender is a radioactive cricket (Rad/Sonic)

I made a bug looking guy a long time ago. He was really small an a dark green color. He was a fire/SS tank. Like u said, fire ant and they are super strong so it seemed to mix. A brute would probably be better now.

Radiation Infection and Enervating Field in Radiation Emission can be coloured to look like bug swarms.

The rest of the set can probably be explained away in terms of disgusting egg-laying pyx pheremone insect stuff too
I don't know what I'd pair it with in either Blast or Control sets. Electrical Control/Blast has a certain poetic justice as a Bug Zapper.

I love insect-themed superheroes. So much so that I once made an entire insect-themed Legion of Superheroes analogue.

Dark Blast and Dark Miasma can be colored to look somewhat like swarms of tiny insects. And of course there's the obvious: a Crab Spider.
