Easy, add a meta game that advances your "avatar" along a track mirroring the movie adventure. Advancement happens when you win, the degree of advancement based on the type of win. I seem to remember a Star Wars based penny slot like that.

Why is this suddenly news worthy?

The game isn't even new. I saw a couple of them at Ceasar's Palace when I was there for Evolution 2K10 in July.

The levels could indicate how much money you can win at any one time.

So, as you advance in levels, you get closer to the chance to win the big jackpot.
