Time Stamps
Completely agree, nothing more I can add to that.

Nuts to timezones, just use the client system time. Problem solved.

Chatlogging is not a good alternative to time stamps, because chat logging logs all channels all the time, and there is a LOT of channel spam in this game, especially in system and combat channels.
I am, therefore, all in favour of adding time stamps to our chat as an option in the menu. Ideally, I'd like it to use my local time, as /localtime is already capable of doing, but I would not be TOO opposed to it using /servertime, instead.
The reason I want this is because all too often, I'll spot a message in a channel or in a tell, and begin wondering when that message happened and if that message is still relevant. For instance, I return from a 20-minute AFK and see I've gotten a team invitation. I'm in a mission, so I never went auto-AFK, and I would like to know if the invite is still relevant, ideally without pestering a person who possibly long since forgot he invited me.
So thumbs up from me.

I like it.
I've always wanted this.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I want this too. I hate it when I go AFK for a longer period of time while soloing a mission and come back to see someone asking me if I want to join their team/a TF/whatever else. I usually don't respond because I don't know if the tell has been sent 15 minutes or two seconds ago...

I'm all for this. If for nothing else, but figuring out if it's worth responding to the invite/tell I got from god-knows-when while working on a costume.

I know this is a bit late but I want to say that timestamps on SG and Coalition in addition to on Tells would be very helpful for the same reasons.
Thanks,

Hello CoX community, Mods, and Devs.
I want time stamps in chat channels, nuff said.
I see this has been suggested before, but the last thread was about a year old, and I do not like necromancing threads, especially if they werent popular.
Some questions I can see being asked.
Yes, I know when you turn chat logging on, time stamps are on the logs, I dont care about logs, I want to see time stamps in the UI where I will be actively looking at the channels.
Secondly, how would/could this look? Taking pointers from Eve-Online, I think:
[Channel](3:30pm EST) Player: Hello All
[Tell] (3:30pm EST) Player: Hello
[Tell] (3:30pm EST)-->Player: Hello
Where setting time zone could be an option, since the population is broken into two kinds of people, those who know their time zone, and those who have no idea what a time zone is, and seeing those 3 letters would confuse them; so a chat option could allow players to hide their time zone, using either the time zone from the OS time/date settings, or allowing 12/24hour, and setting time zone settings in the game UI as well.
Pre determined time zone (however the option would be set):
[Channel](3:30pm) Player: Hello All
Etc
With 12/24 settings:
[Channel] (15:30) Player: Hello All
Etc
Now, Comes something I feel would make a great addition if time stamps could be added, Having them in channels like zone events!
(3:30pm)Jurassik has appeared in 'Crey's Folly'.
Some other suggestions, that would really just be more QoL points for a time stamp issue:
1) Chat setting that allows the player to select which channels they want time stamps enabled. (after-all, some channels it wouldnt be so important, ie, system channel)
2) Setting text color/font of time stamp, with option of it being auto the same of the channel(s) its selected for
3) And others that will probably be asked or suggested after I post this
