Stephen J. Cannell has passed away. I wouldn't normally start a thread to note the passing of someone but he was such an icon. His resume reads like a list of tv shows that I loved; The Greatest American Hero, Wiseguy, The A-Team, and so on.

Goodbye, Mr. Cannell. Thanks for everything.

Grew up watching a LOT of his shows in the 70s and 80s. Rockford Files, Baa Baa Black Sheep as well as the shows Wayfarer mentioned and many others.

He was also a prolific mystery writer which he played up in his poker buddy cameo twice on Castle.

He was involved in so many shows I liked. I am sad about his passing but glad for his work I got to enjoy.

I'll have to play a character that reminds me of one of his shows this weekend.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

That man was a writer i wanted to be. Always working, always loving his work, and folks actually liking it. Think it's time to do a marathon of his shows in honor of his passing.

R.I.P.

Damn.

He contributed so much to my childhood...

I remember sitting in my mom's bedroom and the foot of her bed watching the Rockford Files with her....

A lot of these "X has passed away" thread make me go "aw, that's too bad", but this... This really makes me sad.
