Which would be silly considering you can get PvP IOs from Hero/Villain merits, and you can buy enough Hero Merits to net you one for around 200 million influence.
You CAN still buy PvP IO Recipies, can't you?

They just added the ability to get them with HV merits. The +def is 30 HV merits.
If you do nothing but tips, then it will take you 60 days to get one.
If you also buy HV merits for the 20mil + 50reward merits = 1 HV merit, you can drop that down to 20 days.
Is 400 million + 1000 reward merits + farming tips every night worth more to you than 2 billion inf?

While some people, like myself, are patient enough to do the required farming, there are 99% more that aren't, and will pay the billions for it. This is THE pvp recipe that a lot of builds want. Couple it with the relative rarity of PVP drops overall (I've never seen one drop) and the very low chance of getting a specific one, and it just adds to the cost that people are willing to pay. Blame the sellers for these costs all you want, but the real blame lies with the Devs for knowing it's a flawed system and perpetuating 20 days of farming as the best possible solution.
So yeah that all sounds great, the post above me makes sense cause ive attempted it and given up cause its a waste of time and money..... Bidding is open at 2 billion... thats 2,000,000,000....
Yeah good luck with that. Id pay 500mil max but if your going to be greedy I can only say good luck...

There are several things you do can do in 2 hour time span to earn ATLEAST 50 merits
