What *is* an ebil marketeer?

as I've said before, if they'd had IOs ready to roll after ED I wouldn't have kicked.

But the ridiculous wait between the global nerf and the re-superfication of the playerbase totally justified my vacation from the game. =P

In any case, I don't think we ever should expect ED to be repealed. Unless, of course, you look at IOs as the repeal of ED. I pretty much look at them that way, because my characters are unquestionably far more powerful with IOs than they ever would have been without ED but also without IOs.

Welcome to the club and good profits to you.

I've never posted a pic of one of my toons with 1 or 2B on them....but I make like 500M-1B between my marketing toons every single day and I could post the prestige shot of my main (with like 80+ M prestige) to show that I've blown up enough inf to be ebil many times over (and enough to get my duo-VG with spouse into the top 50 on freedom).

I wonder if I qualify as ebil or not w/o posting the pics.

Also my worst hate mail came from someone who heard that I blew up 5B inf earlier in the day. I didn't keep it but basically their mail was like "I can't believe you destroy inf when so many others want it to buy the stuff they want." I mailed them back asking what they wanted. Then I bought one of each and gave them away to random noobs in mercy without the 3 mos vet badge (new accounts so maybe actually new) and sent a mail to them to that effect. Of course if ebil was evil.....I'd have deleted them and sent pics.

I guess my definition of ebil is such (match at least 3 for ebil -- all 6 for super-ebil):

1) You make at least 50% of your income from the market (not selling drops)

2) You have a repeatable system established which provides a predictable income from the market.

3) You buy and sell the same item at the same time with your buy prices lower than sells (if you're the other way you're not ebil.....you're inf destroying)

4) You own at least one niche

5) You understand how to market PvP to protect your niche(s)

6) You have so much inf you don't know what to do with all of it because you'd cause inflation if you tried to spend it all (making Fulmens mad too!)

1. Check!
2. Check!
3. Check! and if you can figure out how to make money doing it the other way, you're super ebil! (I'm doing it right now btw - its really funny and quite entertaining - My experience with this will be posted next week at the end of my fun)
4. Check! At this point, I "dabble" in about 2 dozen and I hold down 2 or 3 depending on the week.
5. Check! But we don't talk about this... cause if people knew what some of us really do to other marketeers... they'd get kinda grumpy.
6. Sorta check? I tithe about a billion every week to the Crazy 88s. Generally this is what I make on the weekends. I have somewhere around 2 billion liquid now, but I never go "wanting" for anything. And when I do go buy things, I don't cause inflation - except on salvage. I have decided to purchase all (less than rare) salvage for 55,555 inf - even if I could have gotten it for 1. I tend to get annoyed when I have to change my 55,555 to 100,123 because some casual player decided to raise the price and gouge his friends.

I would add a 7th, for those who are truly and malevolently ebil:

7) Instruct others in your practices so that they may go forth and steal thy inf.

I have 2 protege's now and am willing to take on 2 more if anyone has a need for hands on training.

I also wrote a handy guide on how to spend considerably less at the market. Its longish - but its all very true and should stay true for a very long time.

1) Mos Def, though where I get my seed money is another matter (one Luck Charm is all it takes)

2) Not Really No. I've seen too many changes and haven't been able to even establish a good temporal pattern. And I miss flipping Respecs too . . .

3) . . . faster than lightning, no-one you see, is smarter than he . . .

4) Hell no, but I can operate anywhere.

5) Yeah, but I don't have the time or the brutal vigilance to go toe-2-toe with the big cats. I've always made my best profits in the margins.

6) 90 Alts means I have plenty of spending to be done, but at least I can affort SOs for all of them now!

7) A room-mate or two has benefitted from my advice. Not quite what I'd call apprentices.

Soooo . . . Three-and-a-half maybe . . .

<addendum>
I almost forgot, I did have a niche. Back in . . . I want to say late 2008 (right about the time Villain Epic ATs became available) I owned the Red-side Achillies Heel Procs from about level 11-18. Pleasant little spot, at the time, still have plenty of levtovers in the SG base I think.

I don't think I'm officially ebil by this measure. /em sadface

1. Yes, easily.

2. Sort of but I don't pay close enough attention to it. Sometimes I leave it alone for three or four days before checking back again and by then I could have made a lot of inf, had I been active.

3. Not really since my main source of income is crafting and selling at markup. So not really selling the same item.

4. Nah, I move around too much. I held one for a while, but it took more thought than I was willing to spend on it to keep it up.

5. I guess yes, I understand how to, but I prefer not to. I'd rather abandon my niche and find another than bother myself with protecting one.

6. I take too many days-long breaks without logging in, and I spend too much on 'buy it nao' builds, to say I have more than I know what to do with. Yet.

7. No, I'm still learning from all you guys. But I do point out your guides to others, if that counts.

I didn't really start marketeering seriously until a few months ago (even though I've been here since issue 4) so my profits are not what they could be. And like I said, I'm a slow earner because of frequent periods of being away from the game for days at a time. And I'm too lazy to market on multiple toons, so I have one dedicated marketeer.

I make probably half a billion a week, instead of multiple billions a week, like the truly ebil.

(Edit to add: I will, however, submit a pic with 1 billion+ tonight. Just for the record.)
