A, AR, or DP?
performance: Archery
shear fun" AR or DP.
Archery gets really boring on the flashy part really fast. sharp pointy sticks hurt but they don't explode enough or make giant puddles of fire.
Ignite is an awesome power solo or not. Full Auto isn't the key power for AR, it's Ignite for sure, and Ignite combined with, say, Tar Patch or Sleet or Freezing Rain is just awe inspiring.
Oh and DP is shiny.
Whining about everything since 2006.
Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:

Does anyone know if the new oil slick, for trick arrows, works as advertised? If so, I think that just reinforces that ignite is simply underwhelming in its current state, and another edge to archery.
Ignite was "overpowered" back when the cap was level 40, and I still can't see how the recent nerf was warranted. |
Talen_Lee: Taking absorb pain is like branding 'H' on your forehead. Which stands for 'Failure'
Scarf_Girl: ever since I six slotted my Rp with cyber/emo Hami-O enhancements they haven't been able to touch me
I admit Ignite was broken but it's not like it was something that needed to be fixed ASAP...in fact...I think not that many players knew about how powerful it was..or if they did they kept quiet lol.

But lets face it, the AR set is missing AIM because of ignite, and as such, it needs to be as powerful as AIM.
Indeed AR is powerful...but compared to Archery it's a little lackluster now sine the Ignite nerf...They nerfed the recharge and dmg correct? I Wish I would of kept my notes.
People here are underestimating just how good Flamethrower is...
Flamethrower has a damage scale of 1.936.
Fireball is 1.26 (with an admittedly much better cast time).
Flame Thrower + Full Auto does more damage than any nuke a Corruptor has, and doesn't crash. It's penalty is longer cast time and it takes ~7 seconds to complete.

I'm pretty certain that both Blizzard and Inferno will definitely do more damage than Full Auto+FlameThrower, and Blizzard even more-so once Scourge territory is reached. Now, if "damage-over-a-certain-time-period" is what were talking about, sure, FA+FT is superior to both Inferno and Blizzard since they don't drain your endurance and you can re-use them together every 30 seconds. But if we're talking about a "one-strike" assault, then no, they do not compare to a real nuke imho.
...but eh.....I'm still in the camp of folks who think AR needs a buff...
I've played Archery and DP (have no experience with AR) and can definitely say that Archery is my most favourite set in the game.
Prior to level 32 and RoA you get inherently good accuracy and recharge with archery. If you slot correctly you get a real slick combo going with Blazing Arrow ----> Snap Shot -----> Aimed Shot ----> Snap Shot back to blazing arrow (you need to slot for a bit of recharge) and these three powers are available really early.
In terms of AoE, you have three powers - fistfull, EA and RoA. Fistfull imo has limited uses. Archery powers have excellent range except fistfull. I just find it annoying to fire off an RoA, EA and then have to get closer to fire off fistfull. I personally respec'd out of it and have never missed it.
EA is not as good as it seems. To me the damage is always a little bit meh. Again I rarely use it.
RoA is my all time favourite power (so far). I personally never get bored of it. Just watch it on Crey Tanks they tend to laugh at RoA because they seem to have high lethal resistance.
I have limited experience with corruptors and limited experience with dark powers however I can say on my stormy defender she can get pretty destructive with freezing rain + aim + RoA. There is no reason why tar patch would not work just as well in place of FR, if not better.
For me Archery gets the vote!
I just made a DP (level 20atm) an can deff tell it doesn't hit hard at all. The secondary i chose was Traps. So everyone is tell me I'm pretty much wasting my time if i like doing damage, and this guy wont bloom?
guess i should make a fire/dark like everyone else
DP seems like it is very proc friendly with the wide range of secondary effects in its attacks.
