Vendors need an "Undo sale" option
/agreed
Or at least to make Purple and PvP IOs like Hamidions in that they can not be sold at vendors. I haven't made that mistake yet but it freaks me out if I have one (I usually rush to make one when they drop lol).
I'm better with adding an "Are you sure?" window (that can be turned off from the help menu) for IO vendor selling and even give an option for threshold. Threshold = Prompt on Purple/Prompt on Orange.
Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.
Yeah I think I'd prefer the "restrict purple and pvp IOs from being sellable at a vendor" idea myself. As you point out the game already prevents other special things like Hami-Os from being sold anyway so the code involved to exclude purple and pvp IOs would probably be relatively simple to implement.
I think it's reasonable to assume that purple and pvp IOs will always be many times more valuable to sellers selling them at the markets than "wasting" them at the vendors. Case in point I've always thought it was incredibly silly for the game to even offer a method to dump a purple IO for as little as (IIRC) 10,000 INF at a vendor in the first place.

Nah, I like hearing drunk people rant in global channels about how they were so wasted they sold their purples xD. Sadly, though, I am usually an early sleeper so do not see much of that hilarity.
Sorry, but restricting sales of Purples and PVP IOs just isn't sufficient. Just because you can "casually" buy most normal IO sets and procs for Hero/Villain Merits after a couple days work (except for the ones missing from the sale menu... is that WAI or just some of them were missed in the process?) doesn't mean I want to accidentally drop a LotG: Recharge reduction... and extending the idea so that you can't sell any set IO recipes would be annoying too, since a lot of them are junk that's really not good for anything more than converting to inf, even though some are as useful (or even more useful) than many purples.
A buyback option on the vendor would solve the problem without telling the players what they are and aren't allowed to sell.
Dear NCsoft, if you go through with this shutdown you've guaranteed you'll not see another dime from me on any project you put out, ever.

craft first. then sell to vendor what you don't want. problem solved. i know that most peoples objections are going to be because it would save time, but honestly, those goons you are going to beat up will still be there. they don't just get bored and walk out of a mission.
I think a buy back feature would be a great inf sink. Simply charge the player whatever the highest asking price is on the market if he wants to buy back something he sold at the vendor.
I have no sympathy for players with itchy clicking fingers. If they weren't rushing they wouldn't have made the mistake in the first place.
Of course the devs could also simply add a pop up window that asks if you are sure you want to sell each item, that way if Captain impatience turns the window off ha once again has no one to blame but himself for having an itchy clicking finger.
I'm for this idea. A buyback option makes sense.
I also feel not allowing PvP IOs or Purples to be sold at vendors is a good idea. No reason to vendor something like that.

I don't see this as a big enough deal to make a huge fuss over, but there is no downside.
Buy back could have a 10% tax.
Encourages you to be more careful but shouldn't stop anyone from recovering from mistakes.
This thread hasn't seen posts in a few months, so I'm going to close it. If you'd all still like to chime in about the suggestion for vendors to have an "undo" button, please start a new thread on it. Thanks.
The other night I sold a "Chance to Disorient" to a vendor... grr/argh. Not the first time, and doubtfully the last. My fingers twitch a little sometimes, and it only takes an extra click and bamf, it's gone.
Many other MMOs have some sort of "buyback" mechanism in their vendor process (Often requiring the player to pay double what they received or so). Any chance we could get something similar?
