What is a Huntsman?
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
ah ok thanks for clearing that up
Basically you go with Bane but do not take any of the mace powers. So you focus on mostly the early tier powers with some of the Bane powers thrown in. Over this way is a pretty good thread about the Huntsman with some nice back and forth about its strengths and weaknesses. My Huntsman build is too expensive!
IIRC it is a SoA that uses Wolf Spider attacks (The ones you have pre-24) and some of the Bane Spider secondary abilities.
The basic idea is to be like the actual Wolf Spider Huntsman boss mobs: tough soldiers with guns, rather than guys with goofy beam-shooting maces or metal spider legs. Supposedly it's a very viable build but you need to sink a lot of inf into it because you have a relatively small number of attacks so you need a lot of recharge bonuses.
Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

This is a Huntsman.
Whining about everything since 2006.
Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:

Technically speaking there are six SoA ATs:
Wolf Spider
Bane Spider
Crab Spider
Blood Widow
Fortunata
Night Widow
Wolf Spider and Blood Widow are the "base" for the other two, though, so very few people continue with the base powers without "branching out". Those who do this with the Wolf Spider + some Bane Spider powers call themselves "Huntsmen", after the high level officers in Arachnos.
Probably the only reason there isn't a similar differentiation between Blood Widow and Night Widow is that there aren't as many overlapping powers. A Night Widow pretty much already has all the Blood Widow powers.
Also, by definition the Huntsman is supposed to not have the backpack, and so all Crab Spider powers are off limits. In essense, it's an alternate build that uses the gun instead of the mace, although there are some (like me) who plan to use the Mace with the team-centric/support Huntsman strategy.

I put one knockdown proc in follow up and two other melee attacks just to get some "controls". Fun build.
For Stalker-like build, I rather go with Bane soldier.

Has anyone tried an all-ranged Bane build? I know every Mace attack takes 2s but is it good?

I have a Blood Widow who uses Follow Up, two Assault leaderships and Night Widow's Slash and Eviscerate. My Blood Widow doesn't use Hide. Just run in and start slashing. The damage is very very high but also high endurance cost. I don't use any of the psionic attack. All Claws.

She's essentially going to be a Claws Scrapper/Stalker, though.
A fairly comprehensive guide on the Huntsman
I was reading a post that mentioned VEATS and then mentioned Huntsman as a 5th type of VEAT that can be built? I always just thought it was a Bane spider...shows how much i know.
