The Devs give out one frespec when they make significant changes to powers because by default everyone in the game has at least one build per character. One frespec covers their technical obligation to be fair to people who may be forced to make changes to account for power modifications. On the other hand it's your CHOICE to make use of multiple builds. The Devs have no real obligation (assumed or otherwise) to help people who choose to use an optional feature of this game.

Sure you might "want" to get multiple frespecs, but honestly there's very little justification for it and never will be. *shrugs*

They should just change the flag on the respec missions and allow them to be run for respecs as many times as someone wants to refill the mission respec slot.

Now this I agree with, the 3rd respec should allow multiple runs.

I agree too. I feel they should stack to 3 total for the 3 respecs so to encourage players to keep running and not stacking like 10 or so.

I think they already DO give out a freespec per active build.

Since you can only have one active build at a time, you get one freespec.

I'll clarify: The build your character is currently using is their active build, the other build (if used) is INactive.

Since you requested that we get a freespec for every active build, I responded that we already do. By the exact wording you used.

And again I'll submit that if you care that much about min/maxing that many multiple builds then you probably already spend billions on those multiple builds. You should actually be considering yourself lucky the Devs even bothered to give us multiple builds and respec recipes to begin with. To be totally clear about it you should even be glad the Devs give us ANY frespecs when they make changes. There's no rule written anywhere that says they are strictly required to give us ANYTHING in compensation for those changes. They give us the ones they do because they are nice about it, not because they have to.

If you somehow manage to burn through all the free and earnable ones we get, you can just buy all the respecs you want you know. Either with inf or real money. I'm not seeing the problem.

I like to add you can also buy a respec recipe for 10 A-merits so there is another way to get respecs.

Just an additional thought: while i disagree with most of O_I's 'reasoning', i think that it's not unreasonable to increase the number of freespecs available, and i expect to see an upgrade/revamp of the respect system in the next several issues to make it more friendly to IO users.

It intentionally isn't friendly to IO users. The 10 slots we get is already the Devs meeting us half way. IO's are supposed to be a permanent investment, if you want to change them, you lose them.

Any, on the topic, from where i'm sitting, a re-spec would only be needed if the changes were DRASTIC like, a whole power being completely re-done. If this is the case, freespec away, but if it was what, a damage change etc. i can imagine a freespec for fairness sake, but nothing to scream about.

I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...

I'd like to take the time to second this.

I am in a fairly large RPSG with an extensive coalition. Maybe only half of us are min/maxers, but all of us care about a character's performance and all of us "actually play the game."

ok so you don't agree that a freespec for each build for multiple build users should be given when the devs make changes BUT you would like to stack or save up multiple freespecs for convenience when YOU have a need to use them and for IO swapping/removal.
