I have always wondered why Ghost of Scrapyard always spontaneously died when he got to the BM. I thought maybe it was his despawn point, or something.

Yeah, but some mobs (Deathsurge included) can stand outside of the kill zone and kill people with ranged attacks.

So true. Like during an rikti invasion in St Marts once. A number stood at range and shot at me. Luckily my powers were up and were my pets summoned and took them out.

Many times a click is not registered at all. I am not alone in seeing this phenomenon - many people notice it and comment on it. As soon as you move away - no lag!
This may have a limited relationship or even nothing at all to do with whether the player powers are on. This is likely cause by the mere presence of large numbers of players, and possibly their pets (which, as mentioned are not suppressed). It's common for folks with lowband internet connections, which suffer when there are lots of updates from the server about character and critter movements, etc.

This is a function of how close you are to the characters and critters in question. Since a lot of folks congregate at the markets, it's natural that you experience this as you approach.

Unless the characters in the WW are actively cycling through new powers, their powers likely make this only marginally worse. Contrast what you get if you've ever shown up at, say, a Hamidon raid, with what happens when the same players are piled in the center of the zone beating on Hamidon. This means that power suppression is not likely to get rid of this problem for you. Instead, you want to go to a different market - one that's less-used.

If you find a particular market convenient and want to use it because of that, you've probably hit upon why there are other people congregating there.

In closing you seem a little thin skinned on this subject I suggest pm a dev and voicing your complaint, best of luck and have a good day.

Which amuses me because often times people that suggest this claim others using their powers are inconsiderate and rude. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with people looking out for themselves first. It's perfectly normal and acceptable IMO. But for people to claim this suggestion is anything more than selfish is a lie, and it's hypocritical.

Instead of mandatory suppression for everybody, which a lot of people won't like(and their reasons for not liking it are irrelevant), the only good solution is to add some sort of optional door people can go into that dismisses all pets and suppresses powers. That way everybody wins.
I agree.

Some people HATE other people's pink pulsing auras and screaming demons.
Some people HATE detoggling and retoggling, dismissing and resummoning.

I am firmly in one of these camps, but they are BOTH petty. Nobody gets to stand up on a podium and insist that THEIR petty annoyance is logical and really important, while the other people's petty annoyance is stupid and makes them inconsiderate jerks. We're all wallowing in the mud together.

I agree with the separate door solution, particularly if it can be modified slightly to allow certain powers, such as travel powers (perhaps with graphics somehow suppressed) and the portable workstation. That way everyone gets what they want. Unless you hate both other people's powers AND retoggling, in which case you're just out of luck, at least unless they implement a market interface in super bases or something.

However, if it's lag and poor framerate in the market that's bothering you, but you're fine on teams, I suspect it's the large number of people in the area, not the auras. Or it can even be your graphics settings as they relate to large numbers of people. I fiddled with mine until I had a nice compromise that kept my market humming along, even though I'm on a five year old computer. Still, even here, if having a door splits the market population in half, that's half as many people in your area causing the problem. So I think it's still a good solution.

LOL See the powers and pets are necessary.

Enjoy your day please.

I don't think it has anything to do with people being inconsiderate. It's called being lazy.

It's possibly doable in Paragon City, as it's a semi-enclosed space inside Wentworths, but it's slightly more troublesome in the Rogue Isles, with their alfresco open air markets. The edges of the market space are less well defined, and especially in Sharkhead where Scrapyard likes to wander by, having powers suppress could have the potential for griefing.

Maybe the Black Markets have made enough profit by now that they could afford to rent warehousing in the Rogue Isles, which would alleviate a lot of the trouble, and move the semi-legal at best activity off the open streets?
well there is a "killing field" around the BMs (not sure about WW since they have Drones), maybe they can code it into that?

That was his reaction to seeing the prices.

Anyhoo, as annoying as the powers are, they don't impede the function of the market.

Pets, on the other hand - when pets make it impossible to click on (or find) the vendor, or they push you out of interaction range... that's an issue. Fortunately, it's not that common, but it should still be addressed.

Guess I'm the only one that likes the sound of the demons, and I don't even play a MM. Quills constantly firing off though...is what I find the most annoying. So yes, we all have different things that do/do not annoy us.

I personally do not like the way it was done in Praetoria due to the simple fact of the vendor NPC's being so far away from the door. I can zip across the entire zone in the time it takes to jog powerless from the door to a vendor in that place. Anyway, the optional power supressed area idea is good as long as the area is small.

I honestly doubt many would bother using it, but it'd be there for those that want it. I'd probably only use it when someone was being really extra annoying. Yes, I've seen the auto foot stompers more than once myself, and not that long ago.

I'm wary about the Supergroup base market interface idea even though it would make things easier. This game can already seem ghost-townish enough sometimes since so much is instanced. The market is kind of an active place, which can be nice to see.
