NPC alignments, where they are on the sliding scale of morality!

Ok so NPCs have changed sides, reformed, fallen or just had a change of attitude, going to see if I can list them all and whether you guys can help correct mistakes or make new additions...or discuss these changes.

Miss Thystle: Fully ascended from villain to hero (interestingly your path from villain to hero also follows hers via the tip missions).

Frostfire: Fully ascended from villain to hero.

Flambeux: Fully descended from hero to attention craving villain.

Doc Quantum: Fully descended from hero to mad scientist villain.

Polar Shift: fully descended into crazy, crazy villain (she believes everyone but her is a Nemesis automaton...and thus the world needs to die).

Blast Furnace: Hero to vigilante.

Overdrive: Remained hero.

Mangle: Remaind villain.

I think thats all of them so far.

Oh and a rogue tip mission does reveal that Nemesis is making Automatons of the various alignment shifted NPCs and thus gives them their excuse as to why Miss Thystle still turns up to rob banks when she is decidedly heroic according to the tip missions.

Yeah I'm really liking all of this stuff so far.

There's one rogue mission where you team up with Desdemona (cool! And I was on my own MM so lotsa pets!), save a named hero type from assassination (Overdrive? I can't remember), defeat a named captor, and then Mangle (I think) shows up to try to finish off the assassination and you and Desdemona into the bargain. Now that was a cool mission! ^_^ Named enemies, named ally, named hostage, hero, villain, rogue all at once!

That one IS fun! I believe it's Blasty that you save.

Definitely Overdrive you save. Just ran it a few hours ago.

Also, Silent Blade is a character not on that list.

Actually, Polar Shift is in a Hero mission where you save her from Longbow and the CoT. She ends up revealing that she doesn't really want to hurt people anymore, then leaves. So... retired? Or begun converting to Rogue/Hero?

Everyone seems to shift alignment semi regularly.

Blast Furnace is a Rogue in one mission and a Vigilante in others. If you put the missions in order, characters like Frostfire and Miss Thystle ascend and Polar Shift decends. But really? It seems like everyone is shuffling all over the place.

They probably want all the badges.

I'm kind of having an emotional reaction to Doc Quantum's descent into evil. I'm a long time player but I started out with CoV and have always played villains.

Doc Quantum was the very first hero I ever fought, in my very first cape mission. He was always the face of generic heroism to me, and now...

I'm so PROUD.

lol

I feel the same way about Frostfire. I usually play either mutants or magic origins and to see a villainous mutant find his way into the light made me very happy.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
