Just like the Rogue Isles - so we now have dirty evil zones sand clean evil zones to contrast with Paragon City

It's more like our heroes now have a worthy foe and not the lolvillains of the Rogue Isles.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

I'm still interested to see what Tyrant's done with all the magic and magic users - especially as there don't seem to be a lot of them helping the Resistance, so he may have wiped them all out, or imprisoned them somewhere.

not a bad fit, the seers kind of kept me thinking of minority report(the movie at least) but aeon flux works. and yeah, it fits a theme, but the next added zone..i wouldn't mind some magic focus, outside of the midnight society, there really hasn't been much push for magic in coh, and even cimoria is more natural(the Romans and monsters) and tech(the 5th) so maybe some magic now?

I wouldn't mind if the writers took another swing at recluse and crew, they really come across as dysfunctional and borderline pathetic, particularly in contrast with cole's Machiavellian handling of public perception, recluse definitely needs a re-threatening. maybe it could involve the mu/ornabega fight and we could get our magic content out of that?

I definitely LOVE the look and mission content/techniques in GR. I do hope they bring a lot of the textures over to CoH and CoV (including the sky dome perhaps for Paragon City?) and it would be ideal if some of the mission tech/content got ported over to older content. It's hard to allocate Dev time to revamp old content I would imagine but I'd love to see that style of mission writing and whatnot get ported over to both tutorials and the level 1-20 content in CoH and CoV. Then slowly over time do the other level ranges. Either by adding new content or revising old content (which is harder sometimes than just doing something from scratch).

This is my dream. :P

Praetoria does not expanded either Paragon City or the Rogue Isles, it is an alternative to the legacy game. All that wonderfully done development time that makes Praetoria so impressive was done at the expense of very little improvements to the core of CoH. Yes there are combined markets, tips and side switching; some nice improvements to the OLD game....but what could have been done to update and expanded CoH?

Praetoria is eating Paragon City's development budget; and I resent it since my CoH game home is in Paragon. If that is to be the future, the old game and reality is forgotten and Praetoria is expanded to be the entirety of CoH (as suggested by the OP), then this 66 month vet will find other entertainment.
Yeah I agree except for me the 'home' content will always be the Isles. Every character I care about on my account is Villain and I love red side. I've had a few goes with Praetoria so far but eh It's not really blown my mind beyond the shiny stuff. There's been a few arcs so far that I've really enjoyed but there are countless Red arcs I love even more so I'm definitely not seeing it as being better.

Suffice to say I'm back to the Isles as per normal and haven't really gotten much out of GR but hopefully going forward we will see some work on both Paragon and the Rogue Isles.

A lot of great and intelligent feedback in this thread, I hope the devs are reading :-)

I agree with a lot of what is said. I also value Paragon City very highly. Obviously the devs were not trying to recreate the magic of Paragon with Praetoria, they were going for something new, and it worked. Visually its great, like a distant city in another dimension. It lacks the realism of Paragon City though to take over fulltime.

Also as Sam said, the simplicity of Paragon vs. the moral heaviness of Praetoria is a key factor. While I LOVE the moral system, it requires a lot of thought and you have to be very conscious about what you are doing. With Paragon, everything is much more straight forward.

A lot has been said about how Paragon City can be more enjoyable because it is designed to be as realistic as possible given the genre. I agree with that, so I hope the devs don't forget about what made Paragon so great in future projects. :-)

I want City of Heroes AND City of Villains AND Praetoria.

It doesn't have to be either-or.

And if someone just want one particular style... it's there and they should stick with it.

Asking, or even *insisting* that all aspects of the game conform to that one style is pretty... parochial? selfish? short-sighted?

I'd love to see the devs go through and re-do the Paragon zones one at a time - not full revamps the way Faultline was done, but just polish and shine. Not as shiny as Praetoria, heck no, but update the look, the edges, the view distance, things like the windows, etc. Paragon's been looking a little ragged since CoV came out with a much higher graphic value to the zones, and with Praetoria gleaming on the horizon, Paragon's looking a little run down!
