Is there a bad combo?

Made one and chose the wrong origin to start. Had to team her all the way to 50, but I finally got her there. That toon was an experience I never want to repeat!

I saw a TA/DP def dressed like a longbow named Agent Redraw - the mace just makes it even worse.

Hmm. So AR/devices or Archery/devices blaster would be problematic? I haven't had much for trouble with it, but I haven't levelled it far at all yet.

Sure there is, Electrical Mastery APP.

TA/Kin would be quite a trick. As would TA/FF.

Kinetics with cone-heavy blast sets like Dark Blast or Assault Rifle (AR has bonus redraw factor, hah). Kin/Cones play looks like this: you run in, do Kin stuff, run out, use cones, run in, do kin stuff, run out, use cones, repeat. Dark Blast especially has three ranges you'll be constantly moving between (Dark Blast has two different effective cone ranges). Some people can deal with that just fine. I found it kinda annoying (and rerolled my Kin/Dark as Kin/Rad with dark colored powers).

A lot of those combos're really personal taste (my example included). Some people can put up with those annoyances or don't even notice them. Others find they make for an unplayable character.

I say any MM with /FF is nasty... or with any bubbling. It's just too much work. Merc doesn't have inherent "defense" so it is harder to stack defense for them. I've seen one high lvl Merc/FF and he basically just uses Force Bubble to push everything away. It was annoying but it works for him.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Bots isn't bad, since you get decent stacking even if you don't bother individually bubbling everything. Then you whip out the single target bubbles for AV fights. You just need to be ready to stand right beside your bots.

Nope. Devices pretty much calls for using powers before combat (Smoke Grenade, Trip Mine, Time Bomb, Gun Drone, Targeting Drone, and even Cal Trops all make more sense activated before combat), so those combos can work okay. My Archery/Devices Blaster works pretty well.

The main problem with Assault Rifle/Devices is that you miss out on Aim and Build-up, and it's nice to have at least one. People make it work, though.
