Corr epics and knockback protection

First question, why do people not take Mu mastry on a corr? I never have but i was looking at it and power sink and conserve power could be very nice. Was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on it?

Also, I am leveling a fire/dark and was wondering if 4 points of knockback protection will make a big difference? I do not want to sacrafice any of my +recharge so only want to get rid of one LoTG IOs. Thoughts? Opinions?

I personally don't take it because two of the powers from it are useless if you don't have endurance problems. I guess if you were into sapping power sink might be worth it. Besides that it doesn't offer anything special.

Do you already have kb protection and are looking to add to it, or do you have none at all? If you have none then yeah, 4 points will make a difference. Try finding a slot you can move around so that you don't have to give up the LoTG. If you have to give it up then I'll be glad to take it.

I do not reall yhave a big end problem that i can tell so far so i will probably just keep with mace.

I have no knockback protection and have 170% global recharge so one LoTG i wont miss to much, hasten will be down for like 5 seconds so I will prob take the KB protection. Thanks for your input

BotZ -KB in a travel power would do the job too ...

ahh that is a very good point, i had completely forgotten about that set's KB protection. Ok one more question while im at it. I have TP as a travel and I want CJ for the immob protection, should i take SS or SJ? I was thinking SJ but i have vertical mobility with TP so now im thinking for SS since i can stack stealths.

Rad can slot one in Accelerate Metabolism (BotZ) and Kin can slot one in Increase Density (Steadfast) and Speed Boost (BotZ). Interestingly, TA is the only buff/debuff set that does not have a power which can take a -KB IO, probably because it is also the only buff/debuff set without any buffs.

Leviathan gives Hibernate.

Mace gives a S/L Defense shield.

Soul gives Soul Drain, Power Boost and one of the awesomest holds in the game.

I'd say that answers why Mu tends to lose out.

As for Fire/Dark Corr, personally, I wouldn't bother with a KB Protection IO. Since it sounds like you're going the IO route anyways...you should beable to softcap range defense if not come close, not to mention with Dark Miasma's -tohit debuffs, you really shouldn't be hit that often to begin with.

I'd also go with Hover, as it's one of the best ways to leverage the range defense.

4 points will take care of something like 98% of the knockback in game. Most of my squishies don't need more.

BrandX covers pretty what I think on PPPs for corruptors.

My 50 fire/rad corr is the only one with Mu mastery, and just for power sink. Which to me is still situational against long AV fights, running toggles, and using lots and lots of fire MUHAHA..er pardon me, got a bit too excited.

Anyhow, I also have a:
- 50 ice/cold corr with mace since cold has a way to restore end, and a nice pet that I buff up.
- 50 son/kin corr with soul since, again, kin has a way to restore end, and that hold is just too awesome.
- 50 dark/therm corr with sould only because of that hold!
- and lastly a DP/traps corr at 41, which is taking mace because I burn practically no end on that toon and just want to stay in theme with traps and pistols (yeah, mace was the closest IMO).

So I guess Mu is nice, but the type of corr has affected my choices.

As for the KB protection, yeah, I try to find 1 slot somewhere in the build for an IO. 4 pts is nice for most of the game.

I took Mu Mastery on my Ice/Storm Corruptor. Conserve Power is a godsend to my endurance woes. Power Sink doesn't work too well with Hurricane(Hey! Stop repelling so I can drains you!)
Charged Armor works well with the weather theme, except for the fact it's RED.
(razzin frazzin stupid RED lightning...)

4 point of KB prot deals with most KB and can help a lot. I recommend Blessing of the Zephyr if you can swing it.

Ok, thanks for all the advice. I saw one comment saying to go for hover to leverage range defense. I am not really close to the cap there, i did not build for that but am about at 30 s/l def. So combat jumping and SS? is that pretty ok?
