Here's my everyday DM/INV. There are about 7 or 8 ways to tweak higher S/L to about 60%, EN/NEG to 50%, or FIRE/COLD to about 49% but with any variation, it keeps the fitness pool, maintains a travel power, and keeps the end use ~1-1.04/sec.

He's a blast to play and endurance is never a issue.

I also wanted to give a try at the DM/Inv soft cap. Defense S/L is at 45.3% with Resistance S/L at 70.5%. Recovery is 208% and Regeneration is at 311%. Did not use the Gladiator's Armor recipe. Recharge however is only at 135% global. Threw in a recharge on Midnight Grasp to help try and close the gap of the missing percentage.

Well, you gotta give up somethin'...

If you want the recharge, then the triple is likely your best bet.


Also, I see folks are still posting builds, good job! I tinkered on my build a bit more.....

I still would be unlikely to use this, not least because I'm keeping away from exteme builds until the Incarnate System gets finalized, but it's growin' on me.

The fact that I managed to get rid of a set of Kinetic Combats makes me happier: I hate that we wind up using so many of those crummy things....

That particular build that I posted isn't the one I used though. I did it before the i17 changes, but the build is somewhat similar. The toon I posted the build on above has been around since the very beginning almost. I really saw the population diminish with issue 3 I think it was. The defense lessened and permanent unstoppable went away. It wasn't until this year when I came back to the game that i finished this build. It was very expensive but if there's one hero I want to pull out and really feel "super", this guy is definitely it. With the defenses so high, I really think he can do some things that pretty incredible.

For two reasons:

1) Decided lack of AOE damage really cuts down on the overall damage output of the toon, given my playstyle. I tend to team a LOT, and you don't generally have the luxury of grinding things apart piecemeal.

2) It's just SO TOUGH. Good lord, a dm/inv is RIDICULOUSLY durable. Sure, you pay for that durability (see above) but honestly, I felt like nothing was a challenge.

I can't even imagine what playing that monster you made must be like, but I suspect it'd bore me to tears.

In a good way, of course.

I can agree with you on both points.

If I find myself teamed with two or three other fire/shields or elec/shields then I feel pretty useless. Before I can even get a punch off, my target is already dead. The lack of AoE does bother me at times, but it's kind of become more of a situational or even a, "I just feel like playing X toon."


I had to go find things to do to make a challenge for the toon. AE did help with a lot. There were several AE missions that humbled me greatly. Solo'ing the ITF was something I am proud of and there was a challenge to it. You do run the risk of making everything "easy mode" with something like this, but I am still very fond of my character and will continue to try and improve it simply because it's fun.
