I downloaded Mids but never really messed with it much because it seems very cumbersome and difficult to use. I should sit down and try to figure it out someday.

The chat thing has been in the game for a loooong time now. I wanna say it came with I9 and the markets, but I may be wrong...

Weave - 3.75% defense to everything, 60.55% resistance to immobilize. 0.33 Endurance per second cost.

I went with Tough. The resistance will be more immediate help than that tiny defense value, especially since I don't really want to be stealthed.
If you want some Psychic Defence, turn to Vanguard.
The Vanguard Crafting table allows you to make a 30 second Psionic Defence temporary power that lasts for 30 mins toggle time, 150 vanguard merits to make. It provides 25% Psionic Defence.
Taking part in a Mothership Raid should get you a good way there.
The Elusive Mind accolade from Rikti Invasions also provides 25% Psi Defence in one minute bursts on a long timer.
Between the two of these, you can take the hits from nasty Psychic bosses at the ends of missions if you're running in small teams.
Either one with a small luck pill gives you 37.% Psi defence, close to capped with Energy Cloak or Weave also running.
Although Energy Cloak's defense won't help much against Psi all by itself, I do strongly recommend that you take it. It'll help you soft-cap defense without spending too much on IOs, for one thing.
For what it's worth, when I was leveling my EA brute, I definitely noticed the difference when I had to turn EC off to do a hostage escort, for instance. Like Weave or CJ, it's a relatively small amount of defense by itself, but stacked on EA's armor it does make a significant difference in survivability.

I will get Energy Cloak soon. I was thinking I wanted to get it as close as possible with Weave so the two can stack together asap. I guess I was also thinking of Cloak of Darkness on my tanker being more useful in the later game but I can see the fatal flaw in that logic now in the light of day.
The team is only 32nd so I can't do the Vanguard thing yet but that is certainly something to consider later. Thanks for that pointer DrMike.

Yeh, my first villain was a fire/energy aura brute. i was brutal(pun intended) when i fought carnies. I basically avoided any/all mobs dealing psionic damage after my first few run-ins with carnies. Seems to me though even 10% psi def isnt gonna do much good. IIRC, EA's tier 8 is an enddrain/recovery/health power. and EA's tier 9 is a great. Make sure your build allows you to get those when they are available at 35 and 38.
And get mids... it is a great tool for building your toon to be effective, even if you dont care a ton about the numbers.

Not too bad these days tho. Easier to get a respec now and with hero planners available, it makes life SO much easier.
