I do have to agree with most of what people say. I like the costume set but truth be told and looking at the concept art, I mean wow. Great art, I am working on my drawing skills and wish I was that good. Back to the pain part though, the set was half-*****. Rather than put full work into it to take care of those inconsistencies they just turned out the set quickly. I mean look at the concept art and then at the actual costume pieces. The concept art shows the organic armor for instance covers the entire glove portion and comes out the character's skin to give that mutant look but the armor on the gloves don't fully cover it and doesn't come out of the skin, rather it comes off of the thin leather gloves costume piece. That is not lack of machine ability that is just lack of effort and looks pretty bad for it. The comparison of the boots is even worse! I mean look at the concept art, its great covers everything and again brims from the skin. On the costume pieces its just one swirl around the boot and leg coming from the thin leather costume piece, this just in itself is the most horrible looking part of the costume sets and really needs to be fixed. Players at this point have used creative tricks and dark colors to try and cover these things up but the one problem still remains. This was half ***** and pushed out before it could be fully developed. I wish that the devs would read these posts or some of the GMs and it go up the foodchain but I don't think thats going to happen. It's kind of sad to see such a nice costume set short lived and then die down.

Why is it everyone thinks they have to swear to get their point through? And then since swearing is expressly forbidden in the forums they decide to use special characters to "hide" the fact that they are swearing.

Here is a lesson that a 14 year old (me) learned last year, swearing just tells people you are ignorant and petty, therefore not to be listened too. If you want to be not just listened too, but heard, then try writing in such a way that people WANT to listen because of the strengths of your arguement. Heck, then even people who disagree with you will normally give a nod to your way of thinking and respect your arguement more.

(Btw, I learned this the hard way. Thanks Dad!)

Just a thought from a 14 year old delinquent.

The forum automatically adds the **** to cover up 'bad' words.
Personally I find it an unnecessary PC thing, used to appease the oversensitives. But whatever floats your boat.

Hate to sound like a broken record player...

Its all about the quality.

Deliver unto thy customers a complete and finished product that is above and beyond what is out there and people will change their tune.

Yes they will.

Deliver mediocrity and it will be noticed instantly and broadcast no matter how much "under the carpet sweeping" goes on.

Yes it will.

I wonder how many people that don't use the forums are unhappy...

People use emphasized expletives to put weight behind how much it means to them.

People are passionate about this game.

When things aren't right and the people have good reason: Expect the Expletives.

Also: Villains lurk here.

Edit: I wonder how many devs want to strangle me right now...

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

I haven't read all of the posts yet (except on this last page) but has anyone else gotten turned into a Rikti Monkey from hitting Secondary Mutation? I laughed so hard when this popped up, that it got me killed by a gang of Carnies. I didn't care, but it went away before I could stop laughing and screen it. There were no witnesses, and I haven't gotten it to do it again since then.
It said I got a temp power and that it was called Devolution.
If that was a secret bonus, then it was done very well.

Yea, that's working as intended.

Mr TrueMetal, sorry I took so long to respond but I just saw your post and I think you are misunderstanding me. I don't care if people do swear, heck I'm 14, for most of my friends cuss words are half of their vocabulary. What I am saying is it mostly fails to get your point through and often makes you look bad. I may not have been clear on that before.

I am not trying to call anyone out, but to give an example, Mr SoulGem (post #76) has a pretty good areguement going and in it he swears twice. He does it in such a way that it sounds like a rant (I think that is what it's called) on how bad the work on costumes were and makes him and his arguement less effective. In this case the "forum" changed his words to **** as you described. I see a lot of posts that the people do it themselves using "%^&*" and such.

Now I will admit that swearing can be effective if used right (though seldom) and I will give you an example of that too. Post #74 by GMan3 also swears twice (and he uses the special characters I talked about) but in his case he seems to be using it to describe feelings and such in a pretty extreme situation and it worked out well in his arguement.

Overall though I am pretty sure the swearing (bad words) make people look less intelligent than they really are and hurt their arguements.

As for your PC comment (I think you meant Politically Correct, but I am not good with the shorthand yet), I really am not qualified to comment on that one, I'll let the adults sort that out.

P.S.- GMan3, your story was really funny. Thank you for telling it. It reminds me of stuff my parents tell me about their experiences. Oh and thank you for serving our great Country.

Seth Fist should connect the dots:

Given the rest of your post, I think you're aware (or should be) that it's not the words, it's how they're used.

I think that is what I said, Sir. Just not as straight forward as you. I still stand by my statement that the use of swearing hurts your arguements MUCH more often that it helps.

I said that's what you said, when you said it there saying it.

What I'm saying is your generalization is too broad and really has nothing to do with whether your swearing or not. It has to do with poorly using swearwords. I swear quite a bit (depending on your threshold of profanity) without it doing anything bad to my arguments.

It's just an ancient adage that stemmed from a time when "nobody" swore "in polite company" and if you did you must be someone of the "lower classes" **sniff** Language became much more relaxed than that about 40 years ago.

Or to put it another way, you do exactly the same damage to your argument misusing regular words as you do misusing profanity.
