DP/MM, noob to pvp questions

I've been playin for 5 years, and finally decided to roll some pvp. I did a 2nd build of my dp/mm, but it seems like the long animation times are hurting me. And scare seems hit or miss but seemed like a good idea at the time. I went with tough to stack with temp invul but do'nt know how much that really helps.

Is dp any good in pvp, do'nt seem to see many runnin around?

both DP and MM are not so good for PvP. These two sets have great AoE abilities which means you can kill MMs and farm in PvE. I'd stick to EM secondary and Psi, rad, fire, sonic for primaries.

MM has two useful things in it. Scare is decent and DP. Otherwise its pretty garbage.

TKthrust is ok in zones, if you can find who doesnt have enough kb prot.

Not to mention it hits like a brick on front of a transport truck. Ok maybe not a transport truck. Maybe a Miata?

Thanks for advice.

I have Drain psyche in my pve build, but when I made the pvp build I didn't add it. TKthrust seems to be pretty handy, but situational so far (only a few days). I love scare so far. I didn't take any aoes, but see how they would help with mms.

what about nrg/nrg, don't see nrg as a primary that was listed above as a good option and was wondering why.

Best thing to do is look at Mid's on the PvP setting and compare damage factors.

Nrg as a primary's second effect is a minimal KB which any sane person will have some decent protection to with the exception of Power Push. But, even that is usually resisted, even when fully slotted for KB.

Another note is that, even with the animation times on its powers, nrg primary damage still has a hard time keeping up with a primary like Sonic or Rad. You can always slot some procs in but you'll get better performance just going with another primary. Your powers want to be all slotted for damage and nothing trying to exploit the secondary effect--unless it's the sole purpose of that power.

It's been said before multiple times on these boards. Just go with a FoTM build and exploit it to your heart's content. You'll get the most performance where the build is most valuable (zones/arena) and you wont get frustrated as easily with the time you spent on your experimenting.

Try Psi/Fire/Sonic/Rad with Nrg as your first choice in secondaries. Elec does ok as a secondary, same with MM maybe in Siren's

Well rolled a rad/em. Figure the -def, and the stun in cosmic burst will come in handy. Also I have a fire/fire already (on infinity). He's only 24 and has just been tryin to lvl no pvp yet. Made all the powers bright white, looks pretty cool.

Nukes/Novas? Take them if you got room maybe? Seems good against mms but youd have to pop blues just to be able to run away though, kinda torn there.

i do not suggest nukes in PvP. they suck.
