Laptop to play CoX...
The tech issues and bugs forum is the best place for specs questions. If you've loomed at some already, go ahead and link them there to see what the opinions are. Also mention if you are looking for more smaller vs. desktop epkacement kinda thing.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Here's a fairly good place to start.
It's not cheap though. On the flipside, it's not a "cheap" laptop either.
If you don't particularly care to buy off Newegg, or don't care for the form-factor of the Asus I've linked to (or don't want to buy Asus), use the general specs as a guideline.
Hyper, that's a nice laptop, but I think it's important for the OP to know that you can also find CoH-capable laptops in the $600-700 range. It wouldn't be able to run in Ultra Mode, but for someone on a tight budget, they'll run CoH adequately at medium settings.
Here are a few examples from Newegg:

Thanks so much for the info, it gives me a great starting point for the search!
Proud owner of an Asus G73 that I picked up for $1200 and enjoy it a lot. The big minus is that it is very heavy and I am still trying to find a carrying case that I like for it.
Bear in mind that the Geforce 260M will be more powerful than the 320M.

Oh, and Twyla, this chart should be helpful for comparing graphic cards:

I would try to avoid going lower than a class 2 card; below that you'd probably have move the settings to the low end to get decent frame rates.

Ok, how about this:

Please keep in mind that I'm not looking for amazing graphics quality. I have that on my desktop at home. I'm just looking for something to play the game functionally, with a minumum of lag.
(Thanks again for everyone's help!)
Well that unit comes with a Blu-Ray drive. If you want a Blu-Ray drive then fine, otherwise for around the same amount you can get a laptop with better graphics. The drawback is they then tend to use larger and higher resolution screens which will drag native resolution framerates back down as well as making the laptop into a huge beastie. The two out of stock Sony's look to be the best of both worlds, same lower resolution display but with a better GPU.

Ok, so what I'm really looking for is a school laptop, which I realize I could get for really cheap. However, I have multiple-hour breaks between class, and a great wi-fi connection at my school...
So basically, I'm trying to find out what I need in my laptop to play CoX... Namely, graphics-wise. I'm going to have plenty of RAM and HD space, but I don't want to get a laptop and then find out it won't run the game.
I don't have a problem running at low graphics quality, but I don't have a great love of lag.
Any recs?
