I'm not really looking for critique, but thought I share the build for my level 31 mid-level speed TF/Ticket farmer. Level 31 because I want my future rolls to be able to exemp for moonfire and up.

Not a critique, but I don't understand where locking helps your rolls or TF stuff. Even if you weren't going to have the powers slotted above your 31, you could get better enh.

I thought locking down was to get drops.

[and this is possibly sad since I locked a toon for about a month once, playing her every day. Though I really dig the middle 20]

you want to lock characters because random rolls with AE tickets or Merits gives you the recipes at your level or the maximum level of the recipe, whichever is lower. if you don't want any IO enhancements > lvl 31, so the bonuses are active down to lvl 28, then you need to lock your character at 31.

What Kendo said.

Level 32 would open up the 35-40 range rolls where the odds of getting something good is better. But I prefer 31 because of moonfire, and I'm generating some supply for the lower level enhancements on the market.

The build itself is unorthodox. First thing one might notice is No Disembowel! The goals for my speed TF runner are: AoE, survivability, and stealth. So I had to give up disembowel to accommodate those aims. Slice serves as my alternative to disembowel. I may not kill hard targets fast but at level 31 I'm pretty damn sturdy with all my defenses in the upper 30s (I ignored melee defense bonuses/slotting because of parry), and I can take x0x8 groups alone for those boss hunts.

Forgive my ignorance (and thread necromancy!), but how exactly do you lock your level? I've been gone for a while, I know about the leveling pact but I didn't know you could stop getting exp!

It's in the options menu somewhere under "General". Point of advice: Do not "save options to file" after turning off experience. =)

It is a very cool option.

Reminds me of the good ol pre i16 days when PLers would pay perma lvl 46s good inf to door sit and bridge. I had one on both sides. Good times.

As far as rolls, only tickets roll your current level. You can pick the level you want rolled at the merit vender.

That only works if you pick the exact recipe. If you roll merits you can select the tier, but the recipe will be either your level or the max for the recipe whichever is lower.

This.

If I want level 33 IO recipes when I make a random roll for a recipe, I need to be level 33.

This is the same with Merits or AE Tickets.

I also think this needs to change :/ I'd be more willing to random roll, if I could set the level I want the recipe at, rather than stopping the xp gain.

Once you've got the IOs you want to slot, I'd suggest taking it up to 33 and locking it there, as having headsplitter with 4 slots, will improve your speed (on moonfire as much as anywhere else), and 33 IOs are just as good for selling as 31s.

It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba

I'd say better.
