Issue xx : The Little Things..
As often as this suggestion is brought up, you'd think there might be some merit to the pervasive "Bug Fix Issue." You would be mistaken.
As for the beacons...
1) How does one rather small addition like that (that might not be technically possible), constitute enough extra to be called an issue?
2) How often do people really need to exit straight to a different SG base anyway?
Well, this gets brought up every now and again. However, the answer remains the same:
The people who can find and fix the various bugs aren't the same people that are making new content/powersets. As such, if there was an issue devoted to just fixing bugs, there may be a lot of people at Paragon Studios (like the art department) just sitting on their hands, not doing anything.
As such, I fully support them trying to get bug fixes in as they can, but not making a whole issue devoted to bug fixing.
Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

If such an issue would help solve even a single bug faster, then I would /sign it. However, as the above poster already mentioned, new content and bug fixing are handled by different people/departments, so an issue like that would make little to no sense.
Considering how many people have been screaming their insides out about how there has been "no new content" since, like, Issue 7 or something, I'd say such an Issue would be incredibly poorly received.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I just wonder what some of the bug fixing staff are doing, sometimes.
I mean, the Snake Cave mission maps in mercy are STILL borked, no matter how many times I /bugged it.
Are square rocks normal to you? Square terrain? I think not...someone turned the smoothing maps off by accident, methinks...
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

It occurred to me while travelling through Steel, as I watched a myriad of poor hapless citizens not walking, not running, but 'sliding' around.. that I would be more than happy with an issue devoted not to new content or shinyness but instead devoted to tweaking all of the little inherent QOL bugs/glitches/issues. Such as the aforementioned roller-skating citizens, or my window opacity resetting itself every time I zone, or being unable to utilize the 'globe' symbol for base design.. Just the little things.
If in fact this wasn't substantial enough, there could be new content as well to go along with the theme and maybe expand SG emblems, or street signs on the corners, or an idea that might perhaps stand by itself ; Coalition Beacons. I shall elaborate should the concept not be self-explanatory. The concept behind Coalition Beacons would be having the ability to use a base teleporter to beam to a Coalition Base without having to exit your base and re-enter the portal selecting the Coalition Base you want to go to. Granted, not a huge endeavor, but as the main theme here is 'little things' I think it fits. Obviously, should you or your Coalie break the Coalition, the Beacon becomes inactive. Nevertheless, I thought it might be kewl. |

yes - it's annoying - the rocks used to be so much better.
But they have fixed the npcs in the Vault, who are once again sitting on the chairs not standing in them, so there's always hope.
