Electric Armour & ????
Well, if by "I'm not too fussed with the weapon set" means that you don't like them, then I'd suggest going with one of these two:
Super Strength
Stone Melee (probably what I'd suggest, just for kicks)
If you meant instead, that you don't mind the weapon sets, then I'd say that Battle Axe and War Mace should be added to that list.
All are good sets, and help provide you with some sort of additional mitigation (usually in the form of KnockDOWN). I'd hesitate to suggest Fire Melee, since it lacks mitigation, but it can be quite fun (well, it does have mitigation in the form of killing your enemies).
If you take Elec Armor, I'd definitely suggest going with the Fighting Pool, in addition to whatever else you end up taking, to try to get Tough in there. It can help you stay on your toes a lot. With End Drain, it's not like you're going to have to worry about any Endurance use anyways, once you get there.
I have an Elec/DB Tanker, and probably wouldn't suggest it for you. Too tight of a build for my liking, though it is quite pretty.

I went with Stone Melee for my own Elec Armor Tanker and haven't regretted the decision one bit. The stun/knockdown and knockdown mitigation from Fault and Tremor respectively does wonders for added survivability. Slot a Force Feedback: Chance for +Recharge in each and you can also get Energize and Power Sink back up that much faster.
I know that the one complaint about Stone Melee is its lackluster AoE damage. Thankfully, Elec Armor gives you some wiggle room to add in an ancillary powerset. I went with Pyre Mastery, and Fire Ball definitely helps to increase my Tanker's AoE damage output.

I've just spent some time playing around in Mid's since the EU servers are down, and come up with a relatively inexpensive perma-hasten near perma-energize ELA/DM tank.
Assuming things hit, he can heal himself for ~20% health every ~3 seconds folowed by ~50% every ~32 seconds. I'm pretty gimp in Mid's though, so it could probably be alot better. Damage output won't be super duper awesomes but surviveability should be quite neato.
I also went with ElA/DM and shot for a bit of melee defense. When I'm done, I'll have about 35%, which lets me "hit elude" with one purple. That combined with ElA's resists, Energize, and Siphon Life should keep me on my feet for awhile. I'm just at 40 with her now and by no means close to my defense target, but I can (with some fancy footwork and awareness) solo +0/x6 spawns, which is the farming sweet spot.
Don't you ever worry about the endurance management: with Power Sink, everything's good!
I went /Stone on my Elec tank, and it seemed to do a lot of good. Fair damage with KD/Stun mitigation. Of course, I had huge HP bonuses and 30% def to S/L, so my view could be skewed.

Hello and welcome to the world of Electric Armor Tanks - I think you'll find them quite excellent. A key question to ask yourself is what you want your primary to do - single target damage, AoE damage or added survival capability.
As others have noted, Endurance is simply not an issue after Power Sink, so Stone is a solid choice for single target damage.
If you want single target damage and some extra mitigation, go Dark Melee.
If you want AoE damage and damage period, go Fire.
I for one don't believe that Electric Armor needs mitigation from its attack set, particularly if you are adding defense through IO sets and stuff like Combat Jumping/Weave - my Electric/Electric has been at 0/x8 from 20-50 without much difficulty.
For this reason, I think Fire would be a fun and fairly rare combo that would deal high damage for a Tank.
I have little experience with SS so I can't comment on it or the rage thing.
Whatever you take, be prepared for a pretty tight build - Power Surge is really the only skippable power in Electric Armor, and things like Tough/Weave/Combat Jumping/Hasten are also very good for the set.
I know Nuclear Medicine has a lvl 50 Elec/Fire that he's used to tank Hami with and he seems to do quite well with it. I've just recently started an Elm/SS tank and have just gotten him to lvl 15. Fun so far.

Hey there, I also have an elec/DM tank which is great fun to play, it only has a minimum of attack powers as i lets the rest of the team kill stuff for me. I went for +HP and +regen from set bonus's from which I have around 600 hp from sets and then accolades ontop. I regen at around 50hp per second standard and after i hit the heal it jumps to around 80hp per sec. I have no problems tanking any of the TF's and have done the MoSTF many times with him. The extra heal from the DM set is great just to keep the HP topped up and then you have the monster heal if you need it.
I'm having a lot of fun with Electric Armor. I have two currently, Electric/Fire/Fear and Electric/DM.
I have two builds on my Electric/Fire, one for normal use the other for Hami Raiding. On the Electric/Fire normal use build, I went for raw recharge the benefit being a 5 second recharge on FSC, the down side being not much Defense. I think when I get time to play with the build I'll see if I can get some more Defense in there. I probably could if I dropped the Fear aspect of the toon, but it's a themed build...so, we'll see. For the Hami Raider went for max Hit Points and Regeneration. Currently he's at around 45 HP per sec and I think will max somewhere between 70-80 HP per sec when I'm done.
I'm really liking my Electric/DM, having a combat heal (that does really nice damage) is a good thing, Electric Armor's Heal (End conservation and Regen boost), and Dark Consumption (I think that's its name...) gives the Tank three heals. So, he should be quite sturdy. He's only at 26 or 27 atm, but so far the combo has been fun to play.
Electric Armor has no resistance to Toxic, not that it's a common damage type, but wanted to make sure you knew going in.
I can definitely see how Electric/SM would be a good combo, I was looking at Electric/Axe before I decided on DM. Although I think all Secondaries would pair well with Electric Armor...
Have fun and let us know what you went with.

For the sake of clarity, Elec/DM would only have two natural heals: Siphon Life and Energize. Dark Consumption causes PBAoE damage to enemies in exchange for a proportional endurance recovery. Because it requires a to-hit check and has an unmodified 180 sec recharge, it's a skippable power in the DM set, given you already have Power Sink from Elec.
I Went Elec/Dark in the end.
I did the Synapse TF the other day, and I have to say, I was amazed at myself. I know that that was effectively the easiest TF for me to do, but it was nice to see how easy it was to stay on my feet, and that was as a tank with only DOs.
I made a little build. Its not brilliant because on Mids I only have the ability to aim for one thing at a time, and not several. I think its quite cheap, relatively speaking, attempting to maximise my natural recharge, aiming for perma-hasten / energise. I'm close, but my enhancement value of survivability isn't the best. so I may rework it. ofc I'll probably try for something much better if I was able to purple him out, which would probably be the end goal, but any feedback / improvements on this build would be much appreciated.

I went with Elec/Fire. Was the only tank (in 5 years) that I have honestly enjoyed and have taken to 50. I know a few people who have also played that combo and loved it.

My Characters
Hey Guys,
looking for some advice from the tanking community, I quite fancy playing Electric Armour on a tank, a set i've only explored to a small level on a brute, and i've never had a tank very far up either.
Now my main question is what to pair it with?
I enjoy Electric Melee, and the synergistic properties with the set in general and its recharge for Lightning Rod soudns good, but I have to Electric Melee characters in general.
Elec Armour seems to lack defence, so would the Rage crash if I took SS be a bad thing?
Dark Melee, another self heal, but too much Endurance management in there?
I'm not too fussed on the weapon sets, and Energy Melee lost it's appeal quite a while ago.
My hope for this character would be to get up there and run the higher end TFs, which is my overall aim for most of my characters.
I looked a few pages back and tried a search-fu weak search, but coulnd't see alot bout pairing this set with other stuff.
More often than not he'll be teaming I hope, i dont have anything regular lined up, but TFs are easy to come by.
Any advice is much appreciated!
thanks
