sadly the devs. fixed that that work around with GR. so we are back to where we started. Devs. please can we get a lock tray option.

I wouldn't mind a lock tray feature... I'd even consider it a bonus if powers couldn't be dragged to/from locked trays, sometimes in the heat of battle, i either hold down the mouse button for too long or just move the mouse too soon. I find this especially prevalent with click-to-target location AOEs like rains; I move the mouse before it registers that the button is no longer pressed, and the power switches location on my tray.

I don't personally consider this a top priority thing, but it's definitely near the top of my QoL issues.

/bind LBUTTON "gototray 1$$gototrayalt 2$$gototrayalt2 3"

Every time you click the mouse, your trays will reset to positions 1 2 3. If you mis-click, just click anywhere else on the screen to reset it again.

When I saw Jaseist's reply I was initially glad to see a solution to a game issue
that has been bugging me since I started playing CoH a month or so ago.

Since the servers are down I have no way to test but... if what I see on jaseist's screenie shot is right then there is no quick access to inspirations, salvage, powers, etc and the like via on screen menu.
Anyone aware of a way to have those menu items appear on the screen when using
the 'tray off' option?
yes, I'm a point and clicker.

But there IS a workaround. Give me a minute to screenshot this.

On the right hand side of your power bar tray is a little plus. You can use these to create new child power bars.

Create 3 new power bars (or 2, or 1) to mimic your current tray:

Now, go up to Menu, and turn TRAY off.

Your screen should now look like this:

You should be unable to change power trays with clicks, although the power bars are still draggable.

Well the servers are back up and I just tested this.
Bummer, it does not work as stated. I suppose a later patch 'fixed' things so the info here is no longer valid.

When I do as instructed in this post the daughter bars still have the damn
arrows that are too easy to activate.
Oh well.

If anyone knows of a newer method to disable the damn arrow bar switches on the action bars please post.

UziBeaz, did you try my bind above? Did anybody? I tested it myself, but I'm curious if people who have this problem found it useful at all.

From above:

Oh, it works... but it's a bit of an inelegant solution that doesn't really consider some possibilities, like switching trays for khelds/exemplaring... which a well coded tray lock might solve (allow binds/macros to switch trays, but disable arrow use)

That's easy to implement as well...

Simply add a couple extra commands to your tray switching binds to re-bind the button depending what form you are switching to. That only takes a few extra minutes to set up.

I'm not saying it completely solves the problem, but seems it would be a nice work around for the time being if used correctly.

That sounds awesome! Thanks Master!

I'm going to try that today. I'll try to remember to come back and post my result.

It worked. I moved the trays and one click put them right back in order.

I'm adding that bind to my little "CoH stuff" folder in My Documents.

I'm glad you like it. It's fun coming up with little bind projects like this. You should see the things I have in MY "CoH stuff" folder. haha
