Chimera ((Unionverse Open Roleplay))
((If you don't have a die, http://www.roll-dice-online.com/ is a good website for this kind of thing. Question: a few people have multiple characters present so in retaliation to Chimera's attack, can we involve them all and how? One die roll to decide one attack and one attack per character per play/post?))
((one dice roll per character, so three characters present equals three attacks and thus three dice rolls.))
....suppressing a nasty grin , Whisper , moved from his chair and placed his back against the Halls wall , with the same move he tipped over his chair ,to use it as a blocker to keep a little free space around himself ..
..a rapid scan of the hall sort out the knots of panic , and those of organised response , Whispers mind drew up a map of the Hall and tried planed a route , using the panic clusters as cover so that he could move towards Soapbox with minimal risk ....and looked for any opportunity to snag a gun from one of the armed PPD officers , not trying to control the crowds movement (( see below ))
....his route set Whisper started to move , seemingly part of those trying to flee , but being shoved and bounced around the mass of citizens ....while in fact spiralling towards the podium ...
(( dear Plotmaster or PM here after .well some one has to be ...Whisper will try to get a AR equivalent weapon from one of the PPD types in the room , he is willing to use force , ie Mental manipulation set powers , but will use the lower level powers to avoid too much notice , and to avoid killing the person ..please rule if this is possible ))
((Should be possibly but he'd be required to use mental manipulation because an officer isn't likely to just hand over their weapon to some random dude.))
The young blonde looked down at the vitruvian symbol splashed across her chest fir a split second and the thought of removing or hiding it didn't even register in her mind. All she had was anger, pure and simple fury as the greyskinned man spoke. So many things had gone wrong in her life, all at the hands of people with powers and now she was free of them she found all opportunities in her life taken from her by the 'supers', all she knew was fighting but she had no shiny aura nor laser beam eyes so nobody seemed to care. And now, not only did she have the mutants and mages to compete with but genetically engineered freaks to overshadow and to steal any hope she had at a future. Her fists tightening and her tired eyes becoming more alive, ablaze with what she felt was righteous anger, she kept crouched in her chair, paused to strike at the first opportune moment.
Then she saw it, Chimera moved forward, focused on Soapbox above all others, distracted enough to get a solid blow in. Catapulting herself forwards she didn't care if she'd be the first into the fray, she had to help stop this, not only for herself but the others in Humanity First, they too deserved a voice. Moving with the practiced grace of an experienced fighter despite her apparent young age the girl, who on closer inspection had to be in her late teens at most, threw a solid punch. With precision and timing she caught the much taller woman in the abdomen, the strike not only landing but giving pause to the living weapon.
((That was a 6! So knowing my luck there'll be a lot of 1s from here on! ))
((Also, in case my descriptions thus far suck, here's a screenshot of the Humanity First recruit))
((Will split the bots into tiers and the MM separately.))
The hologram wrapped robots posing as a married couple with kids remained where they were sat as people began to panic and run around them, then their children began to rise in the air, spinning as they flew towards the monster and attacking heroes, at the last moment their holograms vanished, the children were in fact Seeker Drones.
The two parent figures Protector rank robotic minions.
((AoE flash -Accuracy, -Damage, -Perception, Disorient attack from the seeker drones. Rolled a 2 ))
The bookish looking woman headed to where the slightly pudgy man was sitting, her hologram vanished, she was in fact a force field generator, putting up a bubble around the man as he tossed a web grenade onto the stage, in an effort to prevent the speaker from running.
((Rolled a 4 for web grenade))
The rabbi and two road workers, dropped their disguises revealing them to be Battle Drone class minions, they began to shoot stun lasers into the crowd, in an effort to make it more difficult for Humanity First to escape the hall.
((Rolled a 4 just random shooting, not directed at any other player characters.))
For the moment the body builder remains seated.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
((heh CB, the rolls are only for when attacking Chimera...everything else is your standard RP fight rules))
((Gah got confused with a freinds role play board.))

Sophie twitched slightly as something flashed up on her screen. A small envelope icon in the lower-right corner, signalling the arrival of a new message from Julia's phone.
"New message, people!" she yelped as she tapped on the icon with her index finger. Then her eyes widened in horror as a photo of Chimera on stage flashed up on screen. "Woah, hell... IT'S HERE, YOU IDIOTS! GET OFF YOUR BUTTS, CHIMERA'S HERE!!"
"Got it!" Molly barked back, hopping out of her seat and slinging her heavily-modified Redding over her shoulder. "Florian, get ready to pull her out of there!"
"Big problem, Boss." Florian declared, much to Molly's distress. "Can't get a damned lock!"
"What? Why?"
"Hell if I know! I just can't get a stupid lock!"
"I should still be able get -you- in there." Sophie piped up, slapping Florian across the back of the head to remove him from the driver's seat of the dropship's teleporter. You'll have to get her out with the rest of the civilians in there."
"Alright," Molly nodded. The rest of the 6-strong team suited up and stood beside her. Of course, there wasn't much in the way of suiting up to be done. Crash simply zipped up her jacket. Masha cleared her throat. If anything Florian had the worst of it., having a full battlesuit to don, but he was already in it by the time he boarded the dropship. "Get us as close to Chimera as you can, preferably with each of us on an even hour of that thing's position each. Everyone remember your emitters, and remember. Plant them flat-side down, whack the red button and back off!"
"Roger that!" Sophie confirmed, tapping away at the screen. "Just gimme a moment."

...The hell are you -playing- at, Florian?

The Chief sighed, standing up like a reverse avalanche of metal.
"SABRE team; go get," he odered, the air heating around him as his jets fired up, before launching across the room. "Wolf, Vix, try and immobilise the thing. Fox, stick to web grenades. I don't want you lighting the place up tonight."
"Gotcha Chief."
Wolf had already unslung his rifle, active camo glitching slightly at the faster movement, before taking aim at one of the Chimera's legs.
The shot was off, mostly due to the growing confusion, taking a neat sliver out of the floor. Fox managed to land his grenade roughly on target, but the advanced webbing didn't seem to work as usual when confronted by a giant, mutant, part cyborg writhing cat girl.
Vix's psionic attempts to immobilise Chimera, however, were met with much more luck, and even seemed to have the side effect of stunning the giant feline.
Then the Chief landed on the stage, crossing it in two strides.
"Pick on someone your own size," he rumbled, before smacking both fists up and under in a powerful uppercut, backed up by his intrinsic energy field.
However, whatever effect it might've had was interupted by the Chimera staggering back under an inmpressive blow to the midsection by a young female in what looked like Humanity First gear, meaning the Chief swung wide and had to take the time to correct his stance, before he himself got floored.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

The rally had incited within Dragonfly all the hate she needed to unleash Humanity First's special brand of terrorism. The speech on careless and manipulative egomaniac metas in the city only brought to her mind the cold and sacrificial murder of her minutes-old baby girl all those years ago. The negative emotions all suppressed now came boiling to the surface. All she needed now was a reason for violence. Right on cue the Chimera arrived, flanked by a train of armed and unarmed, arguably innocent scientists; a clever tactic of legal shielding.
"F**k it!" said Dragonfly, her face a picture of rage. "Altair, get the kids out of here. I'm about to open a can of righteous whoop-a** on these motherf**kin freaks."
"No, Sabrina please" Altair begged. "You're right, you're a mother who got f-ed over pretty bad, but use some logic will you? Mechano had nothing to do with it."
"Out Altair!" screamed Dragonfly. "Do not make me say it twice"
Altair gave a flitting look of disappointment and Dragonfly could tell she was hurt by that outburst.
"Fine, you're right. Mechano didn't kill my little girl" she admitted, struggling to keep her pain bottled in. "But there are countless other little Jasmines out there whose mothers must live in fear, everyday, because our society has lunatic scientists who think wrecking people's lives like this is justified. Why has he sent his freakazoid to attack a peaceful rally? When will it stop Altair? When will the war end? It ends when we all come together and fight back, thats when. And if you'll please mind the children, get them out of here and get out of my way, I got a science experiment to terminate. Okay?"
Altair didn’t respond. She picked up the kids and just left.
"Right then you feline pile of chemical sh*t, get ready for a whole world of righteous f**king pain" Dragonfly spat, walking right up to the beast and throwing a shoe at it. With a CLANG the shoe bounced off its face. "Come on, bring it on bit*h!"
Lady Peppermint remained where she was, and let the others surge forwards. She didn't drop her stealth mode, remaining invisible for the moment. She was more concerned with evacuating the non-meta-powered from the building, rather than defeating Chimera.
Sugar and Spice revealed their positions, but not to attack. Well-placed force fields ensured that the human crowd wouldn't be bothered by shrapnel, debris, or poorly-aimed metahuman attacks. Healing sprays were ready should any injuries occur. Tapped into the computer and police frequencies of the area, Peppermint helped the PPD coordinate the evacuation of the building. There wasn't much she could do about any panic that might occur in the crowd; but she could ensure that evacuation paths remained clear, and the crowd now surging for the exits remained as unmolested as possible. In addition to force fields and healing sprays, Sugar and Spice were also armed with levitation beams which could be used to ensure that no one was trampled. Finally, by means of a specialized pistol, the bots could shoot and activate medical "patches".
Peppermint was reluctant to use the patches. They would transport the target to the nearest hospital facility, using the teleportation network usually reserved for metahuman targets. It wasn't the technical aspects she was worried about. Rather, she knew from experience that everyone in Paragon always got very uptight about any hacking into the teleportation network. There would be no end of trouble. She wouldn't use the patches unless she must.
She kept an eye on both the crowd and the battle, ready to intercept if there should be problems in getting the audience and PPD out of the way.
Acid frowned as the mayhem began early. So much for Plan A. Good thing he had a Plan B. Well okay, actually he didn't but if anyone would've spoken to him a superpower, it would've been that of the immediate adapter.
He spent a few instants identifying useful elements. Cameras. Microphones. Civilians. Robots. The Chief. Fox. Wolf. Vix...
Chimera.
All useful, but with varying degrees of risk and efficiency. In addition, most would do what he wanted if he just left them alone. News crews tended to have this annoying habit of sticking around no matter how many times one told them to get lost, so the cameras would probably keep going until things really out out of hand. Same thing with the heroes. They always did their thing.
The real problem were the wild cards. The young blonde. The guy headbutting the cop. The...sensor sweep? He tapped the claws of two fingers against the small display of his 'watch'. Nope, not broken. Sure enough, something was scanning the building from outside, trying to lock on to something. Well now. How interesting. Unfortunately, he had no way of telling if it was useful or a problem right now, and he couldn't risk revealing the ace up his sleeve this early.
You sure?
He scowled. Telepaths. Well, at least this one knew to keep their 'conversations' stealthy enough to deny others the opportunity to eavesdrop.
Yeah, I'm sure. You just be ready. If this goes bad, I'm gonna need you here reeeal quick-like.
He would, too. The new plan was risky...and maybe just a bit silly. But it had potential. So until he thought of something better, he'd go for that. For Soap Box. Or more specifically, the area of the rafters right above the man, moving quickly, yet cautiously through the mess of metal...

Soap Box watched in horror as chaos broke out in the Crowne Memorial Hall. The appearance of Mechano's goons had thrown most of the attendees into panic. Those members of the PPD not already trampled by fleeing citizens battled to get the people out quickly and safely while a number of heroes and Humanity First supporters engaged Mechano's goons.
Meanwhile Soap Box peered out across the screaming crowd and soon found his eyes fixed upon the blue behemoth known as Chimera. Almost as if she sensed him watching she fixed upon his gaze. With a gulp Soapbox realised she was coming straight for him.
B*****d! Partisan had this planned all along. This rally had nothing to do with trying to gain popular support for our cause by sharing information about Chimera. Partisan counted on Mechano being insane enough to actually attack whilst we were surrounded by Cops and Capes. That's the real reason I didn't get proper Blackshirt back-up is because he wanted martyrs!...
Typical bloody Mechano. I knew he'd bloody do something stupid like this. I better get in there and give Mechano's lot a more tempting target.
The air around Britanic seemed to warp for the briefest of moments, and then wispy dark tendrils seemed to form around him. His already glowing eyes seemed to take on a new intensity and he launched himself into the air morphing his tastefully tailored suit into his red white and blue battle costume. Taking a moment to assess the combatants already engaging the Chimera he then launched himself into the fray...

Wolf stepped seemingly out of thin air, the armours active camo pixilating into solid form behind the figure. The Redding rifle was pointed squarely at Whisper, locked, totally unmoving.
"Maybe, instead of mugging cops, you should leave this to the professionals, huh?"
---
On stage, the Chief positioned himself squarely between Chimera and Soapbox.
"Although I don't agree with their policies, this is not an acceptable way to confront them," he stated, powering up both gauntlets until they hummed, and small sparks coasted lazily across the sleek metal. "Although I suppose asking people to calm down and ease off the triggers isn't going to happen, hmm?"
Fox tapped Soapbox idly on the shoulder.
"Just one blokes opinion, but I think moving to somewhere a tad safer might be a good idea, eh?" he said, half chuckling. "Like the Chief said it; might not agree with you, but I tend not to prove points with giant, mad-science experiments, eh?"

Up in the rafters, Acid took a deep breath. Here went nothing. He only hoped he'd analyzed the situation correctly - or rather that SENECA had come to the right conclusion. Even intelligence grown from machines tended to make mistakes every now and then.
Giving himself a shove, the scaleless reptilian leaped from the roof truss with hands outstretched, clawed fingers nabbing an I-beam that supported a wall nearby, and used the resulting friction to flow his descent and allow the soles of his boots to make contact with the steel. After that, sliding down the thing was a relatively simple matter, giving him just enough momentum upon jumping off the thing to end up next to Fox and Soap Box.
The hero may well have heard him coming, but the Khelari didn't much care. As he stood from the crouch with which he'd ended the drop, he did away with the deflector field, his form peeling itself out of thin air like some kind of phantom that had opted to become manifest. His alien visage, already hard to read for many a human in its foreign nature, betrayed no emotion, and the reptilian's slitted, icy-gray eyes looked upon Soap Box with a cold, calculating intelligence that only further amplified the vicious undertone of the Khelari's predatory appearance.
"For him maybe." he stated coolly, referring to Fox's remark of moving somewhere safer being a good idea, "For Humanity First? No. Sorry, Mister..."
A bemused, toothy smirk appeared upon his lips, a single chuckle let out upon the moniker, "Heh...Mister Soap Box. Today was the day you died for your cause. The day you all did. Don't be afraid. Thanks to your noble sacrifices, Humanity First was able to do so very much. No more metas, Mister Soap Box. Everything you ever wanted. Your death made it possible."
He spoke calmly, stood laxly, and was visibly unarmed. Still, he knew better than to just stand here and talk. That got people punched, stabbed, zapped, and so many other things. No, despite his relaxed and seemingly disregardful posture, Acid was prepared to throw up a field of force at any given instant to protect himself - or block the closest exit Soap Box might've wished to escape through. It was a gamble. The stakes were high. But if he won now, it'd all be worth it...

"Crud it," Sophie cursed as she tapped away at the display. "It's a mess down there, guys. I dunno if it's those Humanity First morons or whichever stupid capes decided to gun for braggin' right without assessing the damned situation first, but they're blocking your ideal positions."
"Get us in a close as you can." Molly suggested. "We'll just have to charge in a little. On the plus side, it's giving us a little momentum for the fallback once we plant these."
"I hope you know what you're doin', Boss." said Sophie just as the teleporter began to give a rising hum, a sign that it was about to jump six people from a dropship at high altitude to the inside of a busy hall instantaneously. "Okay, porting in 3... 2..."
"Ladies and gentlemen," Molly addressed the team behind her while keeping her eyes fixed in front of her as view flashed from the inside of the Schmidt...

...to the stage around the abomination taking centre stage.
"...Operation Bellerophon is now in effect! Move!"
In an instant, the six-strong team charged at the creature, emitters at the ready to plant once they were within range.
Simple job. Slap the thing flat-side down, whack the big red button at the top and fall back. Molly was the first, planting hers and boosting backward to keep her sights fixed on the monster. Masha and Florian followed, though they were hindered by the crowd. Erica had only a few clear steps to make, beating the couple despite the distance difference. Crash landed hers next, and finally, Star Splitter.
Everyone fell back as ordered and the emitters hummed into action, ready to pull the beast down with a multi-second burst of increased gravity.
((Emitters are slightly similar to Gravity Distorion, but I'll leave the damage to the dice and the probable hold effect up to Mech here, TBH
Rolls (1 per member of a team of 6) for Smashing Damage: 6,5,2,6,3,2))
Molly watched as the beast staggered on the spot, glancing at Soap Box's predicament only briefly, though it was enough to show her was still under threat. The thing seemed to be fighting the extra forces trying to hold her down, but she couldn't tell if it was working.
Florian, Masha Molly called over the wireless connection between the team. Deal with that stupid lizard over there, Erica, try and regain some order. Crash, Splitter, stay on Chimera.
Molly swung her rifle in the direction of the rest of Mechano's goons but held her fire. Florian and Masha promptly turned their attentions to the reptile that showed up, while Erica calmly hung back to a safe distance and 'cleared her throat'.
"ATTENTION ALL COMBATANTS WITHIN THIS HALL." Though Erica appeared to be speaking normally, it sounded as if she was talking through a megaphone. "YOU WILL ALL CEASE HOSTILITIES AT ONCE! I REPEAT, CEASE ALL HOSTILITIES."

Julia laid face down on the floor, bruised and battered from the moment all hell broke loose. Bruised and battered from the panicked crowd that saw fit to knock her down and trample over her.
Bruise and battered by betrayal.
She didn't want to get up any more. She just wanted it to end now. She just wanted to die.
Operation Bellerophon is now in effect! Move!
She laid corrected. She didn't want to die now. As soon as she heard the voice of Molly, the voice of her betrayer, she wanted something else.
Blood.
Julia pushed. She used what little will he had left to lift her head and peer between what remained of the seats in the hall.
Molly.
Now she needed a weapon. She needed one if she was going to get any form of satisfaction from this mess. And she would fine one, but she'd need to find it without being noticed.

It was at that point that Wolf, giving up on the crowd-hidden Whisper, turned, took in the situation on the stage, and attempted to put a bullet through the Khelari's leg. It wouldn't be a lasting wound, even if it hit, but it would probably be capable of knocking him clean off his feet.

David nodded his head and motioned for everyone to stand back, using his acid spraying gun to work away at the roof of the sewer, eventually light broke through, the artificial light of one of the back rooms of the Crowe memorial building. Giving the sizzling concrete a moment to settle before Chimera begun helping the team of scientists through the gaping hole. Eventually she clambered through with ease. Steve quickly followed.
David peered through a crack in the door in to see the speech in full swing. He smiled.
"I always did want to make an superb entrance..."
David silently counted to himself and then motioned for the scientists to file into the room.
"Speaking of shenanigans," David addressed the room with a grin, "allow me to introduce myself, I am one Professor David Thulian...please...call me Dave, it's so nice to see so many people here for the real reason...not listening to this schmuck prattle on about inequality but for the unveiling of the amazing Doctor Edward Johnsons latest project...Ladies, gentlemen and children of all ages...I give you PROJECT CHIMERA!"
The hulking blue catgirl had to hunch over to squeeze through the door before unfurling and looking over the crowd, her reticle sweeping across the crowd, making notes of them before moving onto Soapbox and a growl came from her throat.
He had been there when she had found Mike, he was one of the ones responsible for killing her father. A look of purest rage became etched into her face and electricity begun to build up, arcing out from her cybernetics. There was a dull hum as cat-like talsorian claws jutted from her fingertips and her muscle mass seemed to ripple and grow underneath her skin, stretching it tight.
"Now Ladies and gentlemen I suggest you step back...or take off those black shirts if you do not wish our fine feline friend to rend you limb from limb...she is only going to attack humanity first members. If you have any questions regarding Project Chimera please consult Mr. Steve, he will be answering all questions, don't worry, he may be a Shivan but he is completely harmless..."
It was fairly obvious Steve wasn't the average Shivan, not only was he wearing a black and red tie BUT he was also wearing spectacles as well, small round ones perched infront of that goo covered skull. A Clipboard already present and pencil in 'hand'.
Chimera begun her advance on Soapbox and she was not about to stop for anyone...
((Alright kiddies...this is where I throw a curveball, as I have mentioned I'm going to put the 'Roll' back into roleplayer...now obviously I'm trusting you lot very deeply to be honest. The following is a results table, there will be three tables which will deal with different damage types. Chimera is to be considered an Archvillain level foe using game terms but as always there's a chance for some interesting effects...so depending on the 'damage type' your attack corresponds to, please make a roll with a six sided die and consult the following tables, once you have made your roll, looked at the result, please expand on how or what happens with your attack.
Smashing/Lethal:
Unfortunately these damage types are what Chimera is strongest against, she's a mixture of Invulnerability, Elec aura and regeneration so her resistances are pretty dang high and she has Archvillain level regeneration to use game terms.
1-2: CLANG: Your attack hits one of her cybernetic parts and bounces off fairly ineffectively.
3-4: THUD: Your attack lands but it doesn't really seem to do a whole lot, cuts are regenerated near instantly.
5: THACK: Your attack hits and does cause some minor damage, the damage wont last long however and it will barely slow Chimera down.
6: GURGH!: Your attack not only hits but causes full damage.
Negative/Energy/Fire/Cold/Toxic:
Chimera doesn't resist these as heavily as she does Smashing and Lethal so you have more chance of causing damage.
1-2:ZZAP! The electrical field around Chimera absorbs your attack.
2-4:FWWOOSH!: Your attack lands and causes some damage, however the damage wont last long and it barely slows Chimera down.
5-6: ARGH!: Your attack hits and causes problems for Chimera, she'll be stunned for a while, or if on fire she'll flail for a few moments until the flames go out.
Psi:
Chimera has little to no defense, she's very simple minded and easily manipulated.
1: Huh?: Somehow Chimera resists your attack.
2-4: GARRGGHH!: Your mental attack hits home causing full damage.
5-6: BRAIN HURTS!: Your attack hits home with surprising effectiveness. Chimera will be confused and stop attacking for a while, she will also lower her defenses.
So there we have it folks, remember I'm trusting you. I will wait for all the people that have posted in this topic up until this point to make a post and then I shall post. I would impose a timelimit but sadly Brit cannot post that often and I'd hate to lock him out of it because he has more important matters to deal with regarding real life.
Thanks for getting involved, may the dice gods bless your dice rolls and have fun!))
