Mids' I17: The Second Coming
Quick question: If I have the I17 planner from... When was that, a week ago? If I have that, can I use the automatic update, or do I need to redownload and reinstall the new version?

Hi St0n3y,
Thanks for the update. Quick question: when I fire up Mid's, I see that the database version date is 3/5/10. Is that the latest? I uninstalled the version I had before and installed 1.706 (MDXSetup1-706.exe). I've installed it on my Win 7 system with Run As Administrator. Thanks in advance and great work! FF |
No, you can not use the auto-update. This is due to UAC in Vista and now Win7. You will have to download and install the new verisons. They will actually overwrite your existing install so an uninstall of the old version is not necessary. The auto-update is now basically there to let you know there is a new version.

Wait, so it's fine to auto-update on Windows XP? The computer I play COH and use Mids in has Windows XP. And my Windows 7 machines ALL have UAC disabled, precisely because it causes so many troubles when writing to "protected" locations.

Thanks to @EnsonsDeath for the GVE code that made me VIP again!
3/5/10 is UK format for 5/3/10. Since Mids' is from the UK, this was the format that he used, and we just stuck with it.

Got a question about Phalanx Fighting.
If you haven't placed the power into a build, looking at the Effects tab, it shows Melee, Ranged, and AoE at 6% for Scrappers and Brutes, and 8% for Tankers. As soon as you place it, it changes to 3.75% (6) (or 3.75% (8) for Tankers). Is it supposed to do that?

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
St0n3y,
Its a minor issue but both web sites still have May 4 as the date, even tho they have the version (1.706) right.

It looks as though the default setting for the power is assuming that there is at least 1 teammate in range, but when you select, starts at 0. It's a little confusing and seems counter intuitive.
You can adjust the "Allies" slider on the Info tab to manually correct this for now. Its position should be saved whenever you save the build.

Thanks for the update. With all these new versions I've noticed that configuration setting I make aren't retained on the new installation. Each time I reinstall I have to redo the same configuration changes.
Would it be possible to change the installation process so that it keeps my current configuration, like the default save folder, and the forum export and color settings?
Thanks again for all your hard work!
