So i am wondering about the Command

Our channel has i think around 2487 members on it. Which many i know have not been active for a LONG time

we set ours to

/chan_timeout level 50 120

is that correct? because the # of users never changed. or should it be

/chan_timeout 'level 50' 120

Thanks?

By the way, even if the command were functional, you got the syntax wrong. It is:

/chan_timeout <channel name> <days>

You cannot specify level, as level is meaningless for a global account...

Edit:
Further correction, channel name has to be in quotes if there is a space in it. So:

/chan_timeout "level 50" 30

If the channel name is "level 50".

I was under the assumption "Level 50" was the channel name.

And the correct syntax is: /chan_timeout <channel name> <days>

I would guess the channel name does need to be in quotes if there are any spaces in it, since some of the other channel management commands have that requirement.

While we're talking about the new command, here's a question.

If you specify the timout in days, will the system immediately prune all members over the limit, or will the limit need to be reached first?

Example: ChannelBob hasn't been in game for 100 days. The channel mod for TheChannel sets the time out for 90 days.

Will ChannelBob be immediately purged, or will it take 90 days?

I would expect it to be "immediate" just like when you change the inactive demotion days in an SG. I put the word 'immediate' in quotes since it can take a couple of minutes.

That's my expectation since the command would be bloody well useless if it didn't work that way.

What is the default days setting for this feature?

In other words, if nobody actively sets this feature for a channel, will it automatically function on a default setting?

My guess would be the default is 0 (off), which would act the same way it always has.
